Everton versus Chelsea LIVE: Jorginho gives Chelsea the lead from the spot

Tarkowski picks out Mykolenko with a lovely diagonal ball. From the left edge of the area Mykolenko chests it down and volleys at goal immediately, but it's well wide of goal.

McNeil, who has been virtually anonymous today, is replaced by Alli.

A bit of keepball from Chelsea takes the wind out of Everton's second half revival, for now at least.

Azpilicueta is dawdling while taking a throw-in. Pawson, unamused, books him.

Everton have started this half well. Doucoure finds Patterson on the right of the box, and his low cross to through the six yard box just evades Gordon and Mendy grabs the ball.

Mendy has another flap at a corner, and Everton work the ball to Doucoure, all alone on the penalty spot. Doucoure booms it at goal but a starfish save from Mendy keeps the ball out. Everton can't scramble the rebound in and Mendy eventually gathers.

More good work from him here, as he finds McNeil with a nice reverse ball to the edge of the area and Everton win a corner.

A lovely ball over hte top from Iwobi releases Gray, who is one-on-one with Silva. He jinks to the right and shoots low, but Silva just about gets back and gets a faint block to send the shot out for a corner.

THAT PENALTY

A Euro 2021 final re-run, this time with Jorginho winning the battle of nerve.

And that's your lot for the first half. Lampard will be crestfallen, as that penalty really came out of nowhere.

Jorginho takes it and sends Pickford definitively the wrong way, tucking the ball just inside the bottom of the post on the left. Chelsea lead!

In the brouhaha after the penalty was awarded, Yerry Mina was booked for protesting.

Koulibaly finds an angled ball through to Chilwell, who is free in the box. Chilwell turns and drives toward goal and Doucoure bundles him over. A definite spot kick.

It's another barrage of corners for Chelsea, but none have yielded a serious chance yet. A Chilwell cross deflects to the head of Koulibaly near the penalty spot, but he can only send a soft header straight at Pickford.

Chelsea slice through Everton and release Kante into the area on the right. He looks up for support, holds it up and eventually lays it off to Sterling, whose mishit shot is headed away.

There will be a minimum of eight minutes.

He really looks a player, Gordon. Iwobi slides him into the area on the left, and he skips by Silva only for a late lunge by Koulibaly to stop him shooting. That should be a corner, but for some reason isn't.

A Kante shot from the edge is spilled by Pickford, and Sterling tucks home the rebound. The celebrations are cut short immediately though, as he was a yard offside.

A Mount shot is blocked on the edge of the area, before Eveeton break and a poor ball from Gray fails to find Gordon, who would have been in had the pass not bobbled and been intercepted by Silva.

Chelsea have the ball for an age, but several crosses from the right in a row are poor and cleared easily.
