Liverpool 4-3 Fulham - Jurgen Klopp's side edge seven-goal Premier League thriller at Anfield

Two goals in a minute saw Liverpool turn defeat into a Premier League victory as Trent Alexander-Arnold's strike gave them the spoils over Fulham at Anfield.

Fulham took a 3-2 lead with 10 minutes remaining when Bobby Decordova-Reid headed home Tom Cairney's perfect cross at the back post.

Japanese substitute Waturo Endo fired home from the edge of the area three minutes from time to level the scores, and then Alexander-Arnold took a half-clearance on his chest before half-volleying home from the edge of the penalty area.

In the first half, Fulham were twice behind through two incredible strikes. Alexander-Arnold's wonderful-free kick bounced back off the crossbar hitting Bernd Leno and falling into the net, while Alexis Mac Allister struck the purest of half-volleys with the outside of his boot from 25 yards.

Former Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson poked home Antonee Robinson's cross and Kenny Tete from close range in first-half injury-time brought parity at the break.

Darwin Nunez was guilty of missing Liverpool's best chances in the second, hitting the bar once and then shooting wide after Mohamed Salah had played him in, before Fulham took the lead which seemed to have set them up for a shock win.

The victory sees Liverpool stay just two points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.

This did not look the best Premier League game on paper. Liverpool were not 100% going into the game and the Cottagers had won just one out of their first seven on the road. So much credit has to go to Fulham, they showed so much intent at Anfield, with no little quality and were the better team in the first half.

How often can a goalkeeper say he honestly did not have a chance with any of four goals he conceded? It was the case today for Bernd Leno who also had to wear a heavy strapping due to a cut above the eye from a collision with Luis Diaz.

There are question marks about Liverpool, they conceded one from a corner and were lucky to see another disallowed. It appears this will be the area which will cost them in the quest for the Premier League, albeit Alisson Becker may well have saved the second goal which squirmed past Caoimhin Kelleher, but the drive with which they attack teams and not being solely reliant on the front three to score are reasons why they may remain in contention until late in the season.

From his first steps into the Liverpool side he has been a player who produced in big moments, but increasingly he seems a leader in the mould of his former hero Steven Gerrard, driving his side forward and prepared to take responsibility to get his side back into the game.

He was robbed of a brace when his wonderful free-kick was awarded as an own goal to Bernd Leno. But when his side had momentum after their equaliser, he ensured it was not wasted as he smashed home to give his side a memorable victory.

Can Gareth Southgate really not find a key role for someone with this character and quality?

20' GOAL FOR FULHAM (WILSON)! Iwobi played in Robinson on the left flank and he drove in a low cross which the former Liverpool youngster met first time firing the ball through the legs of Kelleher.

39' GOAL FOR LIVERPOOL (MAC ALLISTER)!And it's another incredible strike. This time from Mac Allister. He had time from 25 yards out and struck a wonderful half-volley with the outside of his right foot giving Leno no chance at all as it nestled in the top corner.

45+3' GOAL FOR FULHAM! OR IS IT? They forced a second corner in quick succession and Tete poked the ball home from close range after Jiminez's header. The linesman's flag is up but it looks onside.

53' OFF THE CROSSBAR! On the break Salah slid a perfect ball through for Nunez who shot first time rattling against the crossbar and then bouncing to safety.
