Malouda set for Premiership move
Lyon's want-away winger Florent Malouda is set for a move to the Premiership according to president Jean-Michel Aulas. Aulas would not expand on who was interested in the versatile Guyana-born France international, who has been linked with Chelsea, Liverp
Malouda, 27 tomorrow, has repeatedly stated his desire to move to a club abroad and face a new challenge, and his club have allowed him to leave for a fee of 25 million euros (£17 million).
And Aulas said that he was expecting to enter discussions with a Premiership side within the next day.
"I will meet a top official from an English club in the next 48 hours," he was quoted as saying. "Malouda's price is 25 million [euros]."
He then justified the price tag by adding that "Frank Ribery went [from Marseille] to Bayern for 26 million, and Malouda was Ligue 1 player of the season, so I see no reason why his price should not be the same."
Aulas also added that Eric Abidal would not be going to Barcelona after their bid for the defender was rebuffed and no new one made.
