The Real Madrid forward has been outstanding since his £80 million move in 2009 and has picked up seven trophies, including the 2014 European Cup.
And it because of this success that Ferdinand, who spent 13 years at Old Trafford, believes the 30-year-old will not be returning to play for United.

“The biggest thing about it is that he is competing to win the league and Champions League every year,” Ferdinand told BreatheSport.
“The Champions League is his holy grail.

"Does he seem himself doing that at Man Utd immediately? He doesn’t have time to waste. He hasn’t got time for a transitional period.
"So that ends the conversation.”
