Samir heads Verona to victory at Bologna

Verona scored the only goal of the game when Brazilian defender Samir, making his debut for the away side, scored three minutes before half time.

The win was just the third in Serie A for Verona this season, and they remain six points behind Carpi who are in 17th place.

Verona face Napoli on Sunday, and while they will still provide a tough test, Verona have received a boost with Gonzalo Higuain likely to be serving a ban following his recent red card.
