Bonazzoli goes under knife

Sampdoria striker Emiliano Bonazzoli faces a further six months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his injured knee. The former Reggina and Parma ace sustained the injury during the Blucerchiati's win over Torino earlier this month.

"The player will begin his rehabilitation programme in the next few days," a statement on Sampdoria's official website said.

The 28-year-old has scored four times in 27 Serie A matches so far this season, but will play not part in the run-in to the end of the season as Samp continue their push for a UEFA Cup spot.
