Atalanta sign Albanian star Djimsiti

Atalanta have officially completed the signing of Albanian international Berat Djimsiti from FC Zurich.

The defender was in Bergamo for a medical this morning, and the club has now officially confirmed his arrival.
“Atalanta BC announces the signing of Swiss-born, naturalised Albanian defender Berat Djimsiti,” a statement on the club’s website began.
“Born in Zurich on February 9, 1993, Djimsiti came through from the Zurich youth team, making his debut in 2011.
“He has played 110 games in the Swiss Super League, scoring five goals. He has also racked up 11 appearances and one goal with Zurich in the Europa League.
“He represented the Swiss Under-21 side before answering the call of the Albanian national team, making his debut as  a starter against Denmark on September 4, 2015.
“He has played six times for the national team, scoring one goal, thus contributing to Albania’s historic qualification for the European Championships which will take place in France this summer.
“In Nerazzurro, Berat Djimsiti will wear the number 55 shirt.”
