AC Milan have completed the shock signing of defender Leonardo Bonucci from Italian rivals Juventus for a reported €42 million (£37.3 million).
The 30-year-old has penned a five-year deal at the San Siro.
"He is a player with international experience. Technically, I think that he and Sergio Ramos are the strongest central defenders in the world. Coaching him is a dream come true", Milan coach Vincenzo Montella told the club’s official website.
Bonucci helped Juve to six successive Serie A titles and two Champions League finals, but endured a rocky relationship with boss Massimiliano Allegri.
He took out a full-page newspaper advert in La Gazzetta dello Sport to say thank you to Juve last week, notably making no mention of Allegri.
"Six Scudetti, all experienced and earned by fighting," he wrote. "Naturally, there remains the great regret of not winning the Champions League, but stronger than that is the pride of success achieved and of being part of a big family.
"I always gave my all, truly, to the end. I received, I gave and I learned.
"What I see today looking behind me is in any case a splendid story, worthy of reaching its conclusion in full respect and affection, without sullying what I experienced together with the Club, the Captain, my team-mates and fans.
"Thank you for everything, Juve."
