Football news - Benched Cristiano Ronaldo brought on to salvage point for 10 man Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo was brought on as a sub for Juventus in the 65th minute after being left out of the starting XI for the first time since joining the club.

Despite an own goal in the second minute by Atalanta defender Berat Djimsiti, the club were a goal down thanks to a brace by Duvan Zapata.
Juventus were struggling after Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off in the 53rd minute having received his second yellow card of the match.
With the game in the closing stages, Ronaldo recieved the ball from a corner to tap it into the net in the 78th minute, drawing equal.
The goal sees the Portuguese star become the first player to score in seven consecutive away games in a debut season, and the draw sees Juventus maintain their unbeaten record, this season.
Juventus top the Serie A table by a lead of nine points and face Sampdoria in their next match, on Saturday.
