FULL TIME: Juventus 3-0 Crotone
Pirlo will surely be pleased with the performance his Juventus players have turned in this evening. This has been much better than the displays produced against Napoli and Porto.
There will be three minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
Ronaldo shoots over! Another opportunity for the Juventus forward to score his third goal and secure the hat trick, but he shoots over the crossbar from the freekick 20 yards out.
There were reports linking Pep Guardiola with a move to Turin at the end of last season, but the Catalan decided to stay in the Premier League. Guardiola has been a long-term target for Juve.
The appointment of Pirlo as a rookie manager last summer looked to be a gamble at the time and so it has panned out. The former midfielder has looked out of his depth at points this season.
A couple of seasons ago, it looked like Napoli were on course to win the Italian title with Maurizio Sarri in charge. Juventus, however, managed to catch them. They need that energy now!

And here's Bernardeschi as Pirlo starts to rotate some of his squad.

Cordaz prevents a fourth! Ronaldo couldn't control a pass, the ball then fell into the path of Ramsey, but the Welsh midfielder has his shot saved by Cordaz who has had a decent game.
PICTURE: Chiesa has impressed
Inter’s derby win over AC Milan at the weekend suggested Antonio Conte’s men are powering towards their first Scudetto in a decade. They will take some catching at the top of Serie A.
This result will take Juventus to within eight points of Inter at the top of Serie A. They surely would have been out of the title race with anything less than a victory this evening.
- OffArkadiusz RecaCrotone
- OnAndrea RispoliCrotone
On comes Rispoli for the away side. This game is now gone for Crotone.
Ronaldo has scored twice eight times this season, but the Portuguese international has yet to bag a hat trick. He is desperate to get that third goal and the match ball here.
There has been a flatness to Juventus’ performances in their last two games against Napoli and Porto. Pirlo will surely be pleased with the manner of his team’s play in this match tonight.
- GoalWeston McKennieJuventus
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Juventus 3 (67 mins - Weston McKennie) Crotone 0. There's the third goal for Juventus and it's McKennie who has found the back of the net! De Ligt knocks downa a corner kick delivery to the back post and the American midfielder is on hand to fire home a powerful finish!
Ronaldo is denied! The Portuguese forward is desperate to get his hat trick goal here, but Cordaz sticks out a leg to make the save from Ronaldo who was in behind once again.
Buffon makes the save! Not for the first time this evening. Messias tries his luck from distance. This shot is on target, but the veteran Juventus goalkeeper gets down to make the save.
Ronaldo wants a penalty! The Juventus forward is released in behind the Crotone defence and skews his shot wide of the near post. He believes he was fouled, but there was no contact.
- Yellow cardLuca MarroneCrotone
Marrone was only introduced at half time, but he has picked up a booking.
Of course, Ronaldo was signed to help Juventus take the final step in the Champions League, but if anything the Old Lady have got further away from their ultimate objective these last two seasons.
Ronaldo has carried this Juventus team at times this season. The Portuguese forward is into the twilight of his career, but has scored 18 goals in 19 Serie A appearances. Extremely prolific this term.
PICTURE: It's been Ronaldo's night so far
Danilo believes he was fouled on the edge of the box as he attempted a shot on goal, but the referee doesn't agree. The Brazilian full back sent a shot wildly over the target.
There have been questions over who should partner Ronaldo in attack recently. Morata has been used in that role, but it was Kulusevski who operated as the secondary forward against Porto on Wednesday night.
PICTURE: Two headed goals for Ronaldo
While Ronaldo is the one who has scored both goals for Juventus, it must be said Chiesa has been very impressive this evening. The wide man has been very creative.
- Yellow cardDaniloJuventus
Danilo is shown a yellow card and he will now miss the game against Verona.
It's not that Crotone played poorly in the first half. They just didn't have the quality of the home side who got better as the half progressed. Juventus deserve to be winning.
That's a bit wild! Messias fires off his third shot of the night, but none have troubled Buffon in the Juventus goal. This time his strike flashes well wide of the opposition target.
PICTURE: Ronaldo has scored both goals
The two goals from Ronaldo at the end of the first half changed the complexion of this match and the Portuguese forward also had a glorious opportunity to score a third!
- OffSebastiano LupertoCrotone
- OnLuca MarroneCrotone
Marrone is on for the start of the second half following the injury to Luperto.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way! Juventus have a 2-0 lead over Crotone in this Serie A fixture!
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Juventus 2-0 Crotone
How did he miss?! Chiesa burst through the middle and then played a square ball for Ronaldo who looked set to finish into the net for his hat trick! But he's somehow put it wide of the post!
- GoalCristiano RonaldoJuventus
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Juventus 2 (45+1 mins - Cristiano Ronaldo) Crotone 0. Suddenly, Juventus have a two-goal lead and Ronaldo has grabbed a second! Ramsey stages the cross into the middle and Ronaldo was completely free and up high to power home a header! There was no way he was missing that!
There will be four minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the first half.
Goal stands! Indeed, the goal from Ronaldo stands and Juventus have the lead right before half time. They have been building throughout the first half and deserve to be ahead.
VAR check... the officials are taking a good look at this! Surely Ronaldo was onside when the pass was played into the box? Replays show it might have been tight, actually!
- GoalCristiano RonaldoJuventus
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Juventus 1 (39 mins - Cristiano Ronaldo) Crotone 0. The breakthrough has come and it has gone Juventus' way! The cross into the box was a good one, the Portuguese forward lost his marker and headed into the back of the net! That goal had been coming for the defending Italian champions!
Off the bar! Chiesa's cross to the back post finds Ramsey, but the Welsh midfielder could only direct his header off the crossbar. Cordaz might have got his fingertips to that! Juve getting closer!
Crotone have claimed a point on the last two ocassions that they have faced Juventus and they are doing a good job of keeping things tight again here. Difficult opponents.
Well, it turns out Luperto is going to stay on the pitch for Crotone. The left back was definitely coming off. The sub had even been readied, but he's told the bench he's fine to continue.
PICTURE: Not happening for Ronaldo
Injury! Luperto is down on the ground and Crotone are going to be forced into a change here. Marrone is getting stripped on the touchline. Stroppa is giving some instructions to the sub.
DE LIGT... wide! That should have been the opening goal! The ball was pinging around the Crotone penalty area, it eventually fell to De Ligt 12 yards out, but he volleys wide of the target!
Ronaldo shoots over! All of a sudden, Juventus have players forward on the counter attack, the ball is played to Ronaldo, but the Portuguese forward shoots over. Got a deflection.
One player who has excelled for Juventus this season is Weston McKennie. Signed on loan from Schalke last summer, the American international has become a key figure for the Old Lady.
The ball from Chiesa for that last opportunity was incredible, but looking at the replays it appears Cordaz got a touch to the ball before it reached Ronaldo. Did that put him off?
How did that not go in?! Chiesa committed his man and lasered a low cross to the back post. Ronaldo looked set to finish into the back of the net, but the Juventus forward puts it wide!
Crotone on the counter! The away side come flying down the other end of the pitch after the Ronaldo freekick with Ounas sending a cross into the near post, but Buffon smothers it.
Straight into the wall! Ronaldo lines up the freekick right on the edge of the Crotone penalty area, but the wall did its job, making the block from the Portuguese forward's effort.
Half chance for Ramsey! Sandro got down the left side and smashed a low cross into the box, but Ramsey just couldn't sort his feet out in time and diverts an effort well wide.
Important header! Danilo needed to get there otherwise the cross was going to find Di Carmine at the back post. The former City and Real Madrid defender makes the header, though.
- Yellow cardAaron RamseyJuventus
Ramsey is shown the first yellow card of the match for a crunching tackle.
Questions have been asked over Pirlo’s midfield and whether he has found the right formula in the centre of the pitch. That is where the struggles Juventus have had this season have been epitomised.
Skewed wide! The pass is played to Ramsey on the edge of the box, but the Welsh midfielder never really had his balance set and he sends his sliced shot wide of the target.
Juventus have been the better of the two teams in these opening 20 minutes, but Crotone don't look completely out of their depth. They have seen some of the ball.
While Crotone are rooted to the foot of the Serie A table at the moment, they are just three points away from the relegation play-off spot which would at least give them some hope.
Well over the target! Crotone surged through the centre of the pitch through Messias, but he takes on the shot from distance rather than playing the pass and fires well over the bar.
PICTURE: No early breakthrough
Ronaldo failed to read a knock-on into the box and Cordaz can gather with relative ease under very little pressure. The Portuguese forward at least looks quite lively, though.
Vulic had the opportunity to get a freekick delivery into the Juventus penalty area, but he failed to beat the first man and the clearance is made. The Old Lady hit out on the break.
Of course, Juventus have won nine Serie A titles in a row. This season would have been an historic 10 in a row, but they have a lot of work to do if they are to claw back the difference.
Kulusevski shoots wide! Juventus get a cross into the Crotone box through Chiesa, the ball eventually falls to Kulusevski, but the Swede shoots wide of the far post on the half volley.
Buffon hasn't started in Serie A since before Christmas. He has been playing in the Coppa Italia, but this is a chance for the veteran to prove himself in the league again.
Three points tonight is a must if Juventus are going to stay in the Scudetto race. Pirlo’s side are currently slumped in sixth place in the table and are a giant 11 points off Inter at the top.
While that wasn't the clearest of scoring opportunities, Crotone aren't a team that score many and so that was a chance for them to find the back of the net. Will they get better?
Chance for Reca! The cross was played to the back post, Danilo slipped and allowed Reca to get on the end of the delivery, but he couldn't direct his volley on target. Good opportunity!
Crotone have lost their last four matches on the spin and seven of their last eight. They are currently rooted to the foot of the Serie A table with just 13 points to their name.
Juventus come into this match on the back of a damaging defeat to Napoli in Serie and Porto in the Champions League. This is a must-win match for the Old Lady to get back on track in their season.
Crotone show some ambition with a drive down the left side through Reca, but Juventus get bodies back and there's no way through. The away side hitting out on the counter attack.
Juventus have taken control of this match early on in terms of their dominance of the ball. A pass is played out to Sandro, but there's too much weight on it and the ball drifts out.
What sort of match will we get this evening? The stats suggest Juventus should fancy their chances of scoring a few goals, but the Old Lady haven't looked like themselves recently.
