A Derby County fan has made headlines for all the wrong reasons after he shamefully forced his way onto the pitch and attacked Nottingham Forest's Kelvin Wilson during their Championship derby clash.

The Forest players were making their way back into the dressing room after the final whistle when the angry fan raced past stewards and confronted the burly defender.

The shocking scene at the iPro Stadium stunned fans as the Derby supporter started swinging punches at the Forest player before he was eventually set upon by stewards and other players.

Wilson admirably managed to keep his cool and moved out of the way of the irate man's punches before assistance belatedly arrived.

Forest players attempted to restrain the furious fan until the stewards arrived to help out and with Wilson's team-mate Jamal Lascelles rushing in and rugby tackling the man, sending him crashing to the ground.

It was a very ugly end to the match after Forest had clinched a memorable and dramatic 2-1 win over the Championship high-flyers and their fiercest rivals.

Forest denied Derby top spot in the Championship as a result of their victory, but thanks to one fan's stupidity the game has become more notable for the individual's appalling conduct.
