Shrewsbury sign Loft

Shrewsbury have signed midfielder Doug Loft following a successful trial.

Loft, who was released by Colchester at the end of the season after a number of injury problems, has secured a one-year deal with the Shrews.

He told Shrewsweb: “Obviously I had a very frustrating year last year with injuries.

“I’m fitter than I’ve ever been and I’m playing some good football, so let’s get started with the season.

“I feel really good. The manager (John Askey) has obviously given me a lot of minutes and that’s what I want and I just want to play more.

“I know I can bring a lot to his team and I will over this season.”
