SOCCER-Macron will attend World Cup in Russia if France makes semi-finals

ST PETERSBURG, Russia, May 24 (Reuters) - President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday said he would travel to Russia this summer for the soccer World Cup if the French team made it to the semi-finals.

Campaign groups including Human Rights Watch have pressed Macron to boycott the tournament over Russia's involvement in the Syrian conflict.
