Spain Under-18 star Aleix Garcia joins Manchester City from Villarreal

The 18-year-old winger made his La Liga debut last season and was one of the first players to join the club’s youth set up after it was overhauled by Manuel Pellegrini in 2004.

According to the Manchester Evening News he has been a “jewel in Villarreal’s youth crown” who features for the Under 18 national side and has joined in a deal believed to be worth £2.1 million.

Garcia will join Patrick Vieira’s Elite Development Squad at City but could be given first-team opportunities as well.

The youngster, who has been at Villarreal since he was eight years old, took to Twitter to announce his move.
