Dembele's stunner proves to be the winner for Barcelona as they get their season off to a good start! Sevilla more than played their part, but in the end it was the brilliance of the French winger that proved the difference. On this basis, we are set for a crazy, but excellent, La Liga season. It all gets under way next weekend.

- End of 2nd Half
FULL TIME: Sevilla 1-2 Barcelona. BARCELONA HAVE WON THE 2018 SPANISH SUPERCOPA!
Is there one last chance left in this game for Sevilla? They spurned their opportunity from the penalty spot, so can they create one last opening from open play? Time is running out for them.
- Yellow cardClément LengletFC Barcelona
Lenglet enters the book for... not sure. Was the Barcelona defender complaining about the award of the penalty kick?
Three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.
PENALTY KICK SAVED! Ben Yedder's penalty kick was a poor one and Ter Stegen has the simple task of diving to his left and making the save. Wow, that was atrocious from the Sevilla striker.
PENALTY KICK TO SEVILLA! What drama! The referee points to the spot after a coming together between Ter Stegen and Vidal.
- OffOusmane DembéléFC Barcelona
- OnArturo VidalFC Barcelona
Here comes Vidal and Dembele gets an ovation from the Barcelona fans in Morocco after his goal.
- OffGabriel MercadoSevilla FC
- OnWissam Ben YedderSevilla FC
Ben Yeddar comes on for the final few minutes, with Sevilla desperate for an equalising goal.
Looks like Barcelona are going to make a change and it will be Vidal who will come on for his debut after making the move from Bayern Munich a couple weeks ago. Change should be made soon.
Sevilla have now taken matters into their own hands and are forcing Barcelona back into their own half. The thing is that before that Dembele goal they actually looked rather comfortable!
So what do Sevilla have left in the tank? They have looked like the team with the greater stamina. Barcelona were the team that was tiring, but they have taken a lead late on.
That was quite sensational from Dembele. He should have been closed down much quicker on the edge of the box, but there was no way that Sevilla could anticipate what would happen.
- GoalOusmane DembéléFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Sevilla 1 Barcelona 2 (78 mins - Ousmane Dembele). OH MY WORD! What an incredible strike from Dembele! He takes aim from 20 yards, cutting across the ball with his right foot and smashing a finish in off the underside of the crossbar! What an amazing goal from Dembele!
WHAT A DOUBLE SAVE! Vaclik has pulled off a magnificent double save, first to deny Suarez low down and then to get back up off the ground and make the close range save from Messi.
NAVAS SHOT! That was excellent link up play from Silva and Navas, with the former Manchester City winger eventually shooting straight at Ter Stegen in the Barcelona goal.
This was the offside call on the first Sevilla goal...
Dembele has been very good in this second half. Suarez, on the other hand, hasn't. Surprising that Valverde hasn't hooked him yet given the options that Barcelona have on the bench.
Both teams are starting to look weary late on in this game. Of course, this is still part of pre-season for both Sevilla and Barcelona. Many of Barca's players haven't even played a pre-season game.
Vaclik got away with one a few moments ago. He came out to punch a delivery into the box, but succeeded in only punching the ball straight into the head of Lenglet, who was up from the back.
- OffPablo SarabiaSevilla FC
- OnAleix VidalSevilla FC
Vidal comes on. He's a familiar face for Barcelona. And Sevilla. He just bounces between these two clubs.
VAZQUEZ LASHES WIDE! That was a good opportunity for Sevilla. The pass was played to Vazquez, who had space to get the shot away. But he drags his shot wide of the post.
CLEVER PASS! That was a lovely idea from Suarez. He spotted the run of Coutinho, but the ball from the Barcelona striker was just a little too strong. It flashed across the box.
The game is just starting to become a bit more stretched. Barcelona have the ball in the final third of the pitch, but that is opening up space for Sevilla on the rapid counter attack.
STRAIGHT AT VACLIK! Messi unlocks the Sevilla defence by prodding through a pass for Dembele, but the Frenchman shoots straight at the goalkeeper, who makes the save.
OFF THE TOP OF THE BAR! Inches away from being a second goal for Sevilla. Vazquez gets a glancing header to the delivery to the near post, but the ball spins up and bounces off the top of the bar.
- OffLuís MurielSevilla FC
- OnAndré SilvaSevilla FC
Silva comes on for his Sevilla debut. The Portuguese international scored the winner for AC Milan against Barcelona in a friendly last week...
Escudero is shown a yellow card for Sevilla. I thought this was technically a friendly?
Messi isn't too happy with that challenge from Mercado. The Sevilla player tried to apologise to his countryman, but Messi didn't look to readily accept that apology from him.
This game has lost its way since the half time interval. Barcelona were on top at the end of the first half, but now it's a contest that is being fought in the centre of the pitch.
Sevilla were already aggrieved at this game being played in Morocco and they have threatened to take legal action if Barcelona play more than their allowed non-EU quota this evening.
There has been some controversy around Coutinho this week. Basically, Barcelona have rushed through a Portuguese passport for him to avoid La Liga rules on non-EU players.
Arthur had a pretty sold competitive debut for Barcelona. The Brazil has taken the number eight shirt that Iniesta used to wear for the Camp Nou side. No pressure, then...
- OffArthurFC Barcelona
- OnPhilippe CoutinhoFC Barcelona
Coutinho comes on to replace Arthur. The Moroccan fans are happy to see the former Liverpool playmaker.
LACK OF COMMUNICATION! That was a rare sight. Pique and Ter Stegen got in the way of one another, clashing as they went for the same cross into the Barcelona penalty area.
Sevilla started the better of the two sides in the first half, but the break came at just the right time for them, with Barcelona equalising after 41 minutes and pressing for another just as the whistle blew.
Suarez hasn't looked so sharp this evening. It was a similar story for the Barcelona striker last season. He took a while to get going. Dare I say it... he looks a little on the heavy side!
- OffRafinhaFC Barcelona
- OnIvan RakiticFC Barcelona
Valverde has made a change at the half time interval with Rakitic coming on for the Catalans.
- 2nd Half
The second half is under way in Tangier! It's 1-1 between Sevilla and Barcelona

- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Sevilla 1-1 Barcelona. The half time whistle comes at the best time for Sevilla. They have impressed in the opening 45 minutes, but Barca took control late on in the half.
MESSI! DEFLECTED WIDE! Barcelona have their tail up now, with Messi driving at the Sevilla defence. He gets the shot away, but it's deflected wide by Kjaer, who tracked him.
WHAT A SAVE! Sevilla very nearly hit back right away, with Muriel crossing for Sarabia to get the shot away about eight yards out. But Ter Stegen gets down to make the low save.
This is the new normal. Pique held off on his goal celebration until the referee had phoned into the VAR booth to double check that it should stand. There was no offside.
- GoalGerard PiquéFC Barcelona
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Sevilla 1 Barcelona 1 (41 mins - Gerard Pique). Pique bundles home the finish! Messi struck the base of the post with a freekick from the edge of the box, but the Barcelona defender was on hand to finish on the rebound from close range. Parity is restored!
Messi has now drifted out to the left side, with Dembele tucking in behind him. That's where the space on the pitch is and now the Argentinean is going to try and make the most of that.
SUAREZ... JUST WIDE! That's the best chance of the game so far for Barcelona. Suarez was slotted through, the angle was tight, but he flashes his shot across goal and just wide of the far post.
BARCELONA SCRAMBLE! The Catalans just cannot find a cutting edge in the final third. First it's Suarez who has the shot and then Alba's cross into the box is cleared by Kjaer.
Can Rafinha prove himself to be a solid squad option for Barcelona this season? There is interest in the midfielder after his loan spell at Inter Milan last season. Will he stay past the deadline?
Lenglet needed to get there. The new Barcelona defender strained ever sinew in his neck to get his head on that clipped pass over the top from deep for Muriel. Just about got there.
Dembele crosses into the Sevilla box, but there was literally not one Barcelona player in there to get on the end of it. The Frenchman's final product must get better than that this season.
JUST TOO HIGH! Oh that was close to being the perfect cross for Muriel. I think it was Sarabia who aimed the cross in for the Colombian, but he couldn't get his head on the end of it.
Part of the problem for Sevilla last season was that they didn't have a true goalscorer to lead the line. Will that be an issue for them this season? Can Machin solve that?
Barcelona are back on top again after a good period for Sevilla. They are creating chances, but their conversion rate has been really poor. Suarez and Lenglet might have done better.
LENGLET CHANCE! That was a big opportunity for the centre back to score against his old club. He got on the end of Messi's clipped freekick delivery into the box, but headed over.
- Yellow cardFranco VazquezSevilla FC
Vazquez becomes the first Sevilla player to be booked, bringing down Rafinha.
SUAREZ TAKES AIM! The Barcelona striker was in behind the Sevilla defence, there. However, he decides to take the shot early and draws the save from Vaclik in the goal.
We thought that Dembele might play on the right side of the attacking line, given that's where he played last season. But the young Frenchman is actually out on the right side.
The early signs have been good for Machin as Sevilla manager. His team look well coached, which perhaps shouldn't surprise us given what he achieved at Girona last season.
The Spanish Super Copa game can give a false impression ahead of the new season. For instance, Real Madrid thumped Barcelona last season. Then finished third in La Liga.
Barcelona are starting to turn the screw now. However, while they are camped on the edge of the opposition box, Sevilla look well drilled and are dangerous on the rapid counter attack.
ALBA DRAWS THE SAVE! Vaclik is called into action. Most thought that Alba would look to play the ball across the goal, but he took on the shot himself and forced the save at the near post.
SUAREZ SHOULD DO BETTER! What a pass that was from Messi. He picked out Suarez on the left side of the Sevilla penalty area, but his touch let him down and the clearance is made.
- Yellow cardSergio BusquetsFC Barcelona
First booking of the game and it is shown the way of Busquets for bringing down Muriel.
Technically, this is a friendly game between these two sides. The RFEF decided that it wouldn't be an official match, as previous Super Copa games have been designated.
N'Zonzi is missing for Sevilla this evening. The French midfielder was a target for Arsenal this summer, but now looks set to move to Roma in the coming days. He's not here.
PENALTY CLAIM! Now Barcelona believe that they should have been awarded a spot kick. Semedo's cross into the box was blocked by Kjaer. Replays show it struck his stomach and not his arm.
- GoalPablo SarabiaSevilla FC
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Sevilla 1 (9 mins - Pablo Sarabia) Barcelona 0. VAR has been used and has overturned the decision of the linesman! The goal stands. Sarabia's finish into the far corner was excellent. The replays showed that he was in line with Lenglet when the pass was made by Muriel.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... NO! Sevilla think they have taken the lead through Sarabia, with the forward finishing into the far corner after some good play from Muriel. But the flag is up for offside!
Correction! Earlier I said that Arthur was the only summer signing in the Barcelona team for this game this evening. I missed Lenglet in the backline. Of course, he was signed from Sevilla this summer.
As already mentioned, Lucho is here to watch this game. The new Spain manager tried to speak to Pique to convince him to stay a part of the national team this week. He failed.
It was decided just a few hours before kick off that VAR would be used in this game. The technology will be used in La Liga this season, which is causing some concern. No testing has been done.
ALBA WAS IN BEHIND! First real chance for Barcelona, with Alba getting the byline. He cuts back for a teammate, but Kjaer was in the middle to make the clearance from inside the box.
Sevilla had three different managers last season. The 2017/18 campaign was a difficult one for them, but they still managed to beat Manchester United in the Champions League. Remember that?
As I said earlier, Arthur is the only summer signing in the Barcelona team for this game this evening. Rafinha is also back in the Barca squad after returning from a loan spell at Inter.
- 1st Half
The match is under way! It's Barcelona against Sevilla in the Spanish Super Copa!
The players are now out on the pitch in Tangier. We've just had a look at the VAR hut at the stadium. Kick off is coming soon.
Just minutes until the kick off in Morocco. New Spain manager Luis Enrique is in attendance. He'll be looking forward to casting an eye over some of his new players.
Second season! This will be a big year for Dembele. The Frenchman struggled for Barcelona last season, but he was afforded tolerance. This season, though, he has to perform.
Valverde won the league and Copa del Rey in his first season as Barcelona boss, but now even more is expected of the former Athletic Bilbao manager. The pressure is always on.
Arthur is the only summer signing to feature for Barcelona this evening. Messi and Suarez start up front, with Dembele favoured over new man Malcom on the right wing.
New format! Just a reminder that this year's Spanish Super Copa will be a one-legged affair in contrast to the two-legged affair it has been for the past few years. They felt it was a better idea after the World Cup.
I'm Graham Ruthven and you can catch me on Twitter ahead of the game to let me know your thoughts. What do you expect from Barcelona this season? Can Sevilla improve on last term? Tweet me!
