Mourinho does not want extra time, sending on Son and Ndombele for Moura and Lamela.

It's been a while since Wycombe offered anything going forward.

Moura plays a one-two off Lamela, but can't catch up with a misdirected return.

Eer ahem. Bale eases onto the gas and leaves McCarthy running in a wind tunnel, then crosses low and hard with the outside of his left foot but Alssop, who's been solid, is there again.

Have Wycombe seen it through? Spurs have lost a step these last few minutes, and though I'm sure there'll be another flurry soon, Wycombe are consolidating.

Another change for Wycombe, McCleary replacing Bloomfield.

Bale does McCarthy down the line and tries to find Kane but is fouled before it's possible. This is a good chance to sling in a decent ball, but Bale picks out Allsop.

Time's up. Mourinho has seen enough, sending on Kane for Vinicius. He will not have wanted to do that.

Wycombe are struggling to get out and Grimmer clears directly to Davies, but he cant make anything of it.

Davies crosses from the left and Lamela controls then hits, forcing Allsop to dives and shovel away.

Allsop's top, by the way, is mauve on the shoulders and upper third, turning into lime green, turning into yellow, with yellow sleeves, mauve short and mauve stockings. It's quite remarkable.

It's all Spurs now and Moura skips past Knight, leaving him on his back before rolling in Vinicius, whose chop inside is just a little strong and he can't get a decent shot away.

Kane and Son sounds like a carpentry firm.

Bale slows down Thompson, eases by, goes by Charles too, and drags a shot just past the far post. He's played pretty well tonight, missing chances but creating them for himself and getting into good positions for others.

Bale plays square to Moura, and he shapes to shoot, then when Grimson sells himself ducks past him and into the box, poking an early futsal-style shot just wide.

Spurs, of course, are at home to Liverpool on Thursday night. I'm sure Mourinho will have wanted to save Hojbjerg, who plays all the important games, for that one. But he's desperate to win somthing.

Mourinho isn't messing about, hooking Tanganga to send on Hojbjerg; he stiffens the midfield, with Sissoko taking his finesse to right-back.
