Sloppy clearance from Sanchez on the edge of the box. Moder sends in a swerving, dipping effort but it does not come down in time.

Can Brighton find a way back?

Spurs lead at the break and it's fully deserved. Potter will need to work some magic at the break if Brighton are to find a way back into it.

Brighton have been better in the past five minutes. They work the ball nicely to Moder on the edge of the box, but his curler flies over the bar.

They are probing, but the play is not quick and Spurs are comfortably snuffing them out - and waiting to hit on the counter.

Brighton get men in the box and Lallana flicks the ball to March. He shoots, but the pace is taken off and Lloris saves with ease. Spurs break at pace and Kane's dinked effort is heading wide and Son is unable to direct it goalwards.

Royal couldn't really say he meant it. Could he? If he does, those claims will fall on deaf ears as it's been given as an own goal to March. Tough on the Brighton man who did well to track back and try and make the block.

Well, how to describe that? Royal gallops onto the ball down and right and keeps going, and going and going. Kane asks for it on the edge of the box. Royal says no, and clips a cross towards no-one in particular, but it takes a deflection and loops over Sanchez and in.

Scores goals, makes clearances from left back. With Brighton pressing, Kane tracked back and found the ball at his feet on the edge of his own box. Some forwards get a bit nervous in their own area. Not Kane, who gets his head up, takes a touch and clips a pass out to the right. Glorious.

First sight of Brighton as an attacking force. Bissouma works a bit of space on the edge of the box with a neat turn, but his standing foot slips from under him as he sets to shoot and scuffs the effort wide.

Fair assessment

Kane justifies his selection with a brilliant goal. Webster makes a mess of his clearance, Spurs shuffle the ball to Kane 20 yards out and he curls the ball superbly into the corner.

Harry Kane's not a regular feature in FA Cup matches, and he's been given a taster of what they are like as a crunching tackle from Dunk sees the Brighton man take ball and man.

Not exactly a high-octane affair so far, as we await the first effort on goal.
