Gareth Ainsworth may have got Wycombe promoted this season, but the toughest gig of his career is still to come.
The music-loving Chairboys boss is fronting an INXS tribute band at the Sun Shine Music Festival in Padworth, Berkshire on Friday night.
INXS Kicks are headlining the first night of the three-day event, which also has Doctor and the Medics and Katrina of Eurovision-winning fame on the bill.
Ainsworth, 45, who is taking on the role of Michael Hutchence, is not a newcomer to the singing game having previously fronted bands Dog Chewed The Handle, Road To Eden and Cold Blooded Hearts.
Back in 2016, Ainsworth spoke about his love of rock, telling the Mirror: “Music’s a passion that will never die. It keeps me sane. For those three hours, I still check my phone every other song, but music is my release.”
And earlier this year in an interview with the Guardian, Ainsworth said of Cold Blooded Hearts: “We are trying to get some stuff down on a CD – that would be awesome.
“It will never get into the dressing room, believe me! Whatever I’ve achieved in football, if I could have a CD with a few songs, that would be as big as that.”
