Man Utd to double Rashford's wages

We begin with the back page of The Mirror which says that Manchester United are set to make an offer to forward Marcus Rashford that could see him double his wages. Rashford is currently in the last 18 months of his contract worth £75,000-a-week and a number of top European clubs are interested in signing the England international. In order to prevent that United are prepared to double his wages.
Paper Round's view: Rashford's form since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over has allowed him to show exactly what he is capable of and it is imperative that United keep him. Rashford is a product of the club's academy and he is a loyal favourite amongst the supporters. Paying Rashford £150,000-a-week makes perfect for United based on what he has shown so far.

Chelsea offer Hudson-Odoi new deal

Sticking with The Mirror it is reported that Chelsea have made a late attempt to try and keep Hudson-Odoi. The 18-year-old is also in the final 18 months of his contract and looks set to move to Bayern Munich as he has grown frustrated with the lack of opportunities at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have reportedly offered him a new contract to Hudson-Odoi worth £70,000-a-week.
Paper Round's view: This is far less clear. Rashford is a proven Premier League player and is one of the best young forwards in the country. Hudson-Odoi is equally talented but he is yet to start a Premier League player. However losing him would be a bitter blow and another excellent prospect from the academy who didn't make it and wasn't given a chance. Paying Hudson-Odoi that much money is not the ideal situation but it might be the only one Chelsea are left with...

Higuain expected in London on Friday

Sticking with Chelsea and it is reported that Gonzalo Higuain will be in London on Friday to finalise his loan move to Chelsea from Juventus. Higuain has cut short a loan deal at AC Milan in order to reunite with former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri. Chelsea won't have him available for the trip to Arsenal on Saturday but are hopful he can make his debut against Tottenham Hotspur next week in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg/
Paper Round's view: Similar to Hudson-Odoi this isn't an ideal situation for Chelsea but it is a situation they are in and it might be the best solution. Higuain is a gamble, he has cracked at key moments and can be inconsistent. Yet his best form came under Sarri and at this stage anything is better than Alvaro Morata for Chelsea.

Leeds reject Palace Clarke bid

And we end with a report that says that Leeds have rejected a bid from Crystal Palace for the highly promising Jack Clarke. Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth and Manchester City have all been credited with an interest but Leeds are determined to keep the winger for as long as possible.
Paper Round's view: Clarke is 18, playing in front of fans who love him and for a manager who believes him, there is no reason for him to leave now. He needs to help Leeds get into the Premier League and then develop from there. His talent is good enough that a big move will come in due course.
