PSG consider fresh Gueye move

We begin with an exclusive from The Sun which says Everton have rejected a £25 million bid from PSG for Idrissa Gueye but the French champions are considering a fresh move for the midfielder. PSG remain keen on Gueye and will more than likely up their bid between now and the closure of the transfer window. Everton are determined to keep the 29-year-old.
Paper Round's view: Given how much money PSG have splurged in the past few years it makes sense for them to be going after a slightly cheaper option in midfield. Gueye is an excellent player but he was never going to cost as much as someone like Frenkie De Jong or N'Golo Kante. It's encouraging to see PSG trying to properly address the defensive midfield position as well given the stop-gap measures they have used in the past such as Lassana Diarra or Marquinhos.

Rabiot prefers Liverpool over Spurs

We now have a report that says that Adrien Rabiot has turned down Tottenham Hotspur because he would prefer to move to Liverpool. Rabiot's contract with PSG expires at the end of the season and although he was believed to be close to Barcelona, an agreement has not been reached and the Catalans have now signed Frenkie De Jong. Rabiot is reportedly most interested now in a move to Liverpool.
Paper Round's view: One of these days Adrien Rabiot is actually going to sign for a new football club and he's not going to be in transfer rumours anymore. What seems incredible is that the best option for him appears to be to try and patch things up with PSG and sign a new deal there. He would definitely start for the champions and he's a home-grown talent for them. However, that seems unlikely but given that Liverpool aren't necessarily interested in him it's hard to see where he goes...

Man Utd and Liverpool battle for Mitchell

One player Liverpool are reportedly interested in is Birmingham City forward Romello Mitchell but they could face competition from Manchester United. 16-year-old Mitchell impressed against both teams at youth level this season and now the Premier League giants are keen to add him to their academies.
Paper Round's view: A few months ago if a young striking prospect wanted to pick between these two sides it would have been a simple choice: Liverpool. However, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in charge United have become a far more attractive prospect...

Fulham and Newcastle want Valencia

We end with a report that says that Manchester United's Antonio Valencia could leave before the closure of the transfer window. Valencia is out of favour at the moment and if United cancel his contract he will look to move on. Two options for the Ecuadorian are Fulham and Newcastle United.
Paper Round's view: With Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot it could be hard for Valencia to get game time between now and the end of the season. A move to either Fulham or Newcastle could be an opportunity for him to have more minutes on the pitch and United should make a potential move as easy as possible for a player who has served them so well.
