Real Madrid are ready to launch a €200-million (£171m) bid for Kylian Mbappe amid rumours that Paris Saint-Germain could sell the Frenchman this summer. Mbappe's potential move to the Spanish capital may help Spurs keep hold of Harry Kane for one more season. Elsewhere, Inter Milan and Chelsea are set for transfer talks this coming week, while Brendan Rodgers is close to a Celtic return.

The Real deal

Real Madrid are ready to pounce on Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe this summer. There are question marks over the French forward's future in Paris due to his contract expiring in 2024 and his unwillingness to sign an extension. PSG want to avoid losing Mbappe for free next summer, so could be willing to entertain offers during the off-season, and Real Madrid are willing to take advantage of this situation.
Spanish media outlet Sport reports: "Real Madrid are ready to put 200 million euros on the table to sign Kylian Mbappe in this summer transfer window and not wait until his contract expires in 2024.
"The Frenchman is an absolute desire of Florentino Perez and the madridistas, who see him as the galactico of the new Los Blancos project.
"Real Madrid are waiting for the player to force his exit or for PSG to officially put him up for sale before sending the final offer."

Kane set to stay at Spurs

Kylian Mbappe's potential move to Real Madrid could be music to the ears of Tottenham Hotspur supporters. Los Blancos' ongoing pursuit of Spurs talisman Harry Kane would be deemed financially impossible if they sign Mbappe, which could mean Kane stays in north London for another season.
The Mail writes: "Having already committed close to £100million to sign Jude Bellingham for Borussia Dortmund, a move for Mbappe - that would also likely cost over £100m - would wipe out the Spanish club’s budget.
"Manchester United are the only other club with a concrete interest in Kane this summer - but Spurs are adamant they will not sell to a Premier League rival.
"Unless PSG identify Kane as a potential replacement for Mbappe, the chances of the England captain staying at Spurs this season will improve if the France superstar moves to La Liga."

Inter and Chelsea set for talks

Inter Milan and Chelsea are set for transfer talks this coming week as the clubs attempt to reach an agreement over the future of Romelu Lukaku. The Belgium forward has been offered a £20-million deal by Saudi club Al-Hilal, but has a preference to return to Inter, where he spent last season on loan from Chelsea. Lukaku will be the main talking point, but the two clubs will also discuss other potential transfers.
The Guardian reveals: "Lukaku, who spent last season on loan at Internazionale from Chelsea, is understood to have met officials from Al-Hilal in Paris on Monday to discuss a potential move to the Saudi Pro League.
"The Belgium striker is thought to prefer a return to Inter at this stage, although the Italian club’s financial issues could make any permanent transfer impossible.
"Inter officials are due in London this week to discuss a £50m move for Cameroon goalkeeper André Onana and a potential loan deal for Lukaku, who they sold to Chelsea in 2021 for £100m, with Kalidou Koulibaly also on their wishlist."

Rodgers' return

Brendan Rodgers is set to complete a shock managerial return to Celtic. The former Leicester City boss was sacked by the Foxes back in April and has met with Celtic regarding a return to the club he departed back in 2019. Rodgers' return is "all-but sealed" as the Scottish champions seem to have moved quickly to replace Ange Postecoglou, who recently left for Tottenham Hotspur.
The Guardian confirms: "Talks between Rodgers, Celtic’s main shareholder, Dermot Desmond, and other members of the Scottish champions’ board have progressed positively to the point where a second tenure is all-but sealed.
"The 50-year-old, who enjoyed a hugely successful period at Celtic between 2016 and 2019, had planned to take an extended break from the game after his sacking by Leicester in April.
"Leeds had also set sights on Rodgers as they seek an immediate return to the Premier League."
