Luke Shaw says he is “doing fine” after being stretchered off with a head injury during England’s UEFA Nations League game against Spain.
The Manchester United full-back appeared to be knocked unconscious by an accidental collision with Spain's Dani Carvajal.
Shaw received lengthy medical treatment, including oxygen, and got a sympathetic ovation from the Wembley crowd.
Thankfully, England's medical team later confirmed it was not as serious as first feared, while the 23-year-old also took to social media to ease concerns.
"Thank you for all the love and support," Shaw wrote on Twitter. "I am doing fine and am in the best hands. I'm a fighter so I will be back soon."
Shaw, who has endured terrible luck with injuries, was assessed at Wembley Stadium instead of being taken to hospital.
He was making his first start for England since missing a year with a compound leg fracture.
"Luke is awake and alert, having been assessed by our doctor and given an X-ray," a Football Association statement said.
"He'll stay with us overnight for further observation, with another update to come in the morning."
Shaw had earlier set up England's opening goal with a superb through ball to clubmate Marcus Rashford.
