Wayne Rooney proved inspirational for DC United once more on Wednesday night after scoring twice in a 4-1 win against Portland Timbers.

After DC fell behind, Wayne Rooney levelled matters with a well-timed run and cool first-time finish...
But his second of the match - and DC's third - proved the former England striker is still nifty with set-pieces too, curling in a fine free-kick from 25 yards out...
The heroics come just days after Rooney produced a magical assist in the 96th minute against Orlando, seconds after producing a goal-saving tackle down the other end with his goalkeeper nowhere to be seen.
Sidenote - why was his goalkeeper up for a corner at 2-2?!? Regardless, it's an excuse to post that moment again... Enjoy.
