Watford manager Marco Silva has admitted that the club’s recent poor form is cause for concern.
The Hornets head to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday with just one victory from their last 10 matches in the division.
Despite a strong start to his tenure at Vicarage Road, Silva’s side have slipped to 10th and are only six points above the relegation places.
And the Portuguese knows his under-performing side must turn the tables in order to act upon their recent troubling displays.
“Of course I am concerned because this is not what we work for,” Silva said.  “The form is not the best, even though in some games we did enough to take more points, although this was not the case in the last two or three matches.
“We need to work more, analyse why and keep going and keep working hard. The Premier League is not an easy competition and you have to fight every day, and we will do everything we can to improve our squad in the right way.
“I know we can’t win every match and I don’t lose focus just because one day we are in sixth or one day we are in 10th. I know what is our goal and I don’t change one word from what I said at the start. We need to be calm in some important moments.”
Watford are reportedly interested in signing Leicester forward Islam Slimani this month.
Silva worked with Slimani, who has scored five times in 17 appearances for the Foxes this season, during their time together at Sporting Lisbon.

“Of course I know him very well,” Silva added of the 29-year-old. “But I expect them to play Jamie Vardy.
“It is not important what striker they will play and most important is what I can control and that is my team.
“They are a very good side and they have got a good number of quality players in the attack line, this is clear for everyone. But on the bench they are strong as well. They have a lot of quality.
“We performed well against them, coming back after losing to win 2-1 on Boxing Day. It was a good tough game.
“We want to change our form away and come with a good result. This is what we will do and we will do everything to achieve this.”
