Lyon edged a penalty shootout with fellow French side Paris Saint-Germain to defend their Women’s Champions League crown and secure a second consecutive Treble.
PSG goalkeeper Katarzyna Kiedrzynek was the unfortunate villain, missing her spotkick in sudden death before failing to stop opposite number Sarah Bouhaddi’s penalty.
It was an enthralling end to an otherwise uneventful evening, with the match going the distance after a goalless draw.
Ada Hegerberg spurned two glorious chances for Lyon in as many seconds, while Marie-Laure Delie poked wide for PSG when through one-on-one, but it was a game of few chances.
Lyon star Alex Morgan hobbled off early on with an injured hamstring, but still gained a third winners’ medal from her five-month loan spell at Lyon – adding to domestic league and cup triumphs.
