Paris Saint-Germain could be forgiven if they are feeling optimistic about their chances of reaching the semi-finals of this season's Champions League tournament. They came away from Germany on Tuesday night with a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich, while in the evening's later game, Real Madrid were trounced 3-1 by Barcelona.

Barcelona scored twice late in the game to secure a 3-1 comeback win over rivals Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
It was Real who took the lead, when Olga Carmona scored on eight minutes, converting the assist from Esther Gonzalez.
Barca’s star player Alexia Putellas then levelled for the away side from the spot, and with eight minutes left on the close, Claudio Pina scored to put them ahead.
With seconds remaining in the game, Putellas made it two to give her side a two-goal cushion going into next Wednesday’s second leg.
The winners of this quarter-final will go on to play whoever emerges victorious of Arsenal v Wolfsburg, with the first leg taking place on Wednesday.
Earlier in the evening, two goals from Marie-Antoinette Katoto earned Paris Saint-Germain a 2-1 win at Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
Katoto scored her first with a rising shot as she followed up from Kadidiatou Diani’s effort which struck the woodwork.
A second-half header then put her team 2-0 up with a quarter of the match left to play.
Securing a two-goal lead to take back to France would have been a job well done but Klara Buehl converted a late free-kick towards the end of the match.
The teams will meet again in Paris on March 30.
PSG have won each of their seven home games in the tournament this campaign, conceding a single goal and scoring 27.
PSG are also unbeaten in 16 matches in all competitions.
