Gauvin, with 20 minutes remaining, glances an effort to the back post, and it drifts just wide of the far post - but she's offside anyway.

Gauvin challenges at the back post for a header, the ball run to Le Sommer behind her, and she blasts a shot into the side netting.
A corner to the back post for France is cleared. USA attempt a counter.
Henry has a shot from distance deflected wide.
France press a little for a change, but not much is going on with that. Henry attacks down the left but the ball comes off her for a goal kick.

Mewis forces Bouhaddi to push the ball away from goal, and Heath rebounds before the 'keeper turns it onto the post with an outstretched leg.
Mewis has a shot from distance saved, and that's half time.

Mewis is penalised for pushing Thiney in midfield.
Rapinoe passes back for Dunn on the left, who cuts onto her right before diving a shot at goal, which is easily stopped.
Heath curls in a cross from the left, and it's headed behind by Mewis for a goal kick after Renard challenges for the ball as well.
Thiney's cross from the left wing is collected by the 'keeper.

Le Sommer wins it back, but O'Hara arges straight into Majri, on the turn, and is lucky to avoid a booking.
Henry receives the ball after USA lose the ball in their own half, and she drills a ball out to the left well out of play.

Morgan is down with a head injury and being taken off the pitch to be properly checked.
Majri curls in a corner to the back post and it's overhit so easily cleared.

Mewis takes an easy tumble on the left but the ref is not at all interested.
Bouhaddi rushes out to take the ball off Rapinoe's toes on the left wing, sliding in on the winger outside the box.

Torrent swipes into Rapinoe down the left wing, and escapes a booking. She ends a counterattack which is fairly cynical.
A cross from Thiney is over the head of everyone, Majri aims a cross in for Le Sommer, but she can't seriously trouble the 'keeper.
This will have taken some time to type.
Rapinoe blasts in a deep cross from the left which flies over everyone.
The French crowd rouse themselves in support of the home team.

Majri is accused of diving on the left wing and the commentator patronises her for attacking down the left wing.

Excellent US winger Megan Rapinoe said she would not be visiting the White House even if she wins the World Cup which provoked an entirely dignified response from Donald Trump. Let me know on Twitter what is the biggest rise you've got out off a blue tick.

Here's Hope Solo on the game tonight: "It just brings so much joy to me to watch the evolution of the game, which now has a huge following here in Paris, especially among the older generation. That growth, is surprising because when I lived here in France back in 2005 as a Lyon player, a lot of the older generation did not necessarily respect women's football."
