China's first corner of the match comes to nothing as Bergamaschi clears the danger.
19'
Here's a look at Giacinti's opener...
17'
China punished for their sloppiness - that move started when the ball was given away down their left, with Giacinti showing as much endeavour to track the ball down as she did when eventually slotting in the opener moments later!
15'
GOOOALL! GIACINTI GIVES ITALY THE LEAD!
And it's no more than she deserves. She pounces on the ball down the right and after picking out Bonansea in the middle, an attempt from Girelli falls kindly for Giacinti once more, who is on hand to tap in the rebound!

CHANCE! China the cause of their own problems as they give the ball away to Giacinti, and with Peng off her line the Italian goes for goal immediately, but it sails just a whisker wide of the far post.
11'
Giacinti has the ball in the net... but will it count??
She's played through on goal and slots it away calmly, but the flag goes up and replays show she is indeed offside, and so it will not stand...

As I was saying!
9'
A cross is sent in from deep but all Giacinti can do is glance her header well wide. Italy on the front foot.
8'
A teasing low cross is sent in by Bergamaschi but Han does brilliantly to scoop it away inside her own six-yard area.
6'
Competitive start to this match with China pressing hard and not willing to show any signs of weakness against Italy. It's set-up for an interesting affair!
4'
That could have gone wrong for China... Guigliano's cross bounces in the area and almost catches Peng off guard in the China goal, but she is at full-stretch to prevent it from bouncing over her.
2'
Poor tackle from Wang Yan on Guigliano but the referee keeps her cards in her pocket...
1st Half
KICK-OFF
Right then. We are under way. China scored once and conceded once in their three group games. Let's see if the Italians - who scored seven in their group - can break their resilience in this penultimate last-16 match.
16.56
It's time for the national anthems in Montpellier. Plenty of passione from the Italians.

Not long now...
16.50
Knockout experience – this is Italy’s first knockout game in TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS. They lost to Norway in the quarter-finals back in 1991… China meanwhile were losing finalists to USA on penalties in 1999, and since then they have won just one of their four knockout matches. It’s say to say they have more experience, but they’ll be up against it once more this afternoon.
16.45
China will face a difficult task shutting down Italy’s front three, and leading the line is Cristiana Girelli, who already has three goals to her name this tournament. Those three strikes have come from just four attempts on goal, while Barbara Bonansea is just one behind having scored both goals in the win over Australia.
16.40
As training sessions go... this looks pretty fun.
16.35
The winner of this match will face Japan or the Netherlands in the quarter-final on Saturday, and you have to say Italy are favourites after topping a group which also featured Australia and Brazil. China finished third in their group, but will be hopeful of an upset in what is their first World Cup meeting with the Italians.
