That's it, full time. An easy win for Germany, who had none of the complaceny of other sides. A deserved win, and one that came after an early setback. For Azerbaijan, they can be pleased with much of their performance, but they just weren't able to defend well enough.
There will be three more minutes of this.
Germany are running down the clock, as they have been for the last 50 minutes.
- OffToni KroosGermany
- OnSebastian RudyGermany
Rudy, Rudy, Rudy, Rudy, he's gonnnna plaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, as Kroos comes off.
A shove from Sane gives away a meaningless foul. But isn't everything, in the existential sense, truly meaningless? I don't know, so get those tweets coming!
- OffRahid AmirquliyevAzerbaijan
Eddy replaces Amirguliyev. Howedes was booked a moment ago for a dastardly challenge.
I'm led to believe Draxler has been on the pitch, but Sane has now replaced him.
Gurbanov on for Ismaylov.
- GoalAndré SchürrleGermany
GOAL! Azerbaijan 1-4 Germany. Schurrle scores - Hector, after a wonderful passing move from Germany, picks out Schurrle to his right. He steadies himself with a touch, and rifles it into the top corner. Game over man, game over!
Gary Birtles has been fuming about Azerbaijan taking too many touches. It's because they're not as good as Germany, Gary.
Khedira takes an early shot when a pullback might have been expected, but Agayev grabs hold of it well.
Draxler is on the pitch!
Yilmaz loses the ball with his back to goal, and Germany come back to press in the opponent's half.
With 20 minutes left, it seems both sides are happy to let the game drift as it is.
Ismaylov's corner is glanced wide of the far post. That's been one of their best chances, as their attacking effectiveness has waned.
Sheydaev is replaced by Yilmaz.
Hummels ficks a pass to the back pass for Muller, but he can't get to what would be a great opportunity because he's just too far away.
Ismaylov has the chance to cross, but Leno is able to collect it. It's a waste of a good opportunity.
- OffMario GómezGermany
- OnMesut ÖzilGermany
Ozil ghosts onto the pitch, replacing Gomez.
Germany are playing the ball around in defence, but make regular incursions towards the Azerbaijani goal. Kimmich wins a corner on the right wing.
Germany are pressing high up the pitch again. The ball is worked to Schurrle just inside the box, and his shot flicks off a defender and just a yard wide.
Kroos hacks down Amirguliyev, whose name I copy-and-pasted. No yellow card.
Germany break now, and Gomez is given a pass to chase by Muller, but it doesn't quite get around the defender.
Ismaylov breaks down the right, and tries to pass it inside, and it's intercepted.
Gomez holds up the ball outside the box, dinks it to Muller, and he drives a low effort at goal that is well stopped.
Gomez shifts the ball left, and blasts a ball well over the bar.

That's half time. See you in 15 minutes.
- GoalMario GómezGermany
GOAL! Azerbaijan 1-3 Germany. Gomez scores - More patient build-up from Germany, it's flicked out to Kimmich, and he picks out Gomez to head the ball back from the way it came, into the top corner.
It's all Germany still, but the problem with the modern approach is that a) it's incredibly dull and b) there's nothing to report until a chance is created every five minutes.
Germany press again, but Azerbaijan are sensible enough to play their way out.
Germany are in control again, it seems, but they must now recognise the need to focus. They're not playing a bunch of clowns. Schurrle clips Nazarov as he breaks from deep, but isn't booked.
- GoalThomas MüllerGermany
GOAL! Azerbaijan 1-2 Germany. Muller scores - Azerbaijan break, but it's won back on the left wing by Schurrle, who promptly slips in Muller. He rounds the 'keeper and slips in his shot.
Kroos clips in the ball to the back post, it's dropped into the middle of the box and hoiked away.
Kimmich is cleaned out on the right wing. Kroos has a free kick close to the edge of the box.
- GoalDimitrij NazarovAzerbaijan
GOAL! Azerbaijan 1-1 Germany. Nazarov scores - The ball is flung out to Nazarov, and he's totally unmarked. He checks inside, into the box, and strokes a shot past Leno with a calm finish.
More gentle possession, tiring Azerbaijan out as best they can.
Germany are happy to just keep the ball now, and they're doing it in their opponent's half. It keeps the pressure on.
Azerbaijan are pinned back, with Kimmich forcing in a low cross that is cleared. Azerbaijan keep hold of it well for a while, but are pressured off the ball.
Kroos curls in the corner from the right, but it's headed out to Kimmich who slashes a low shot wide.
Kimmich has a chance to shoot from a tight angle, but tries to square the ball and wins a corner instead.
GOAL! Azerbaijan 0-1 Germany. Schurrle scores - A fluid attack move sees the ball worked to Hector on the left wing, and he fizzes a shot inside for Schurre to side-foot a pass into an empty net.
Hector is pulled down on the left wing, near his own box, by an attacker and he buys some respite for Germany.
A corner for Germany is cleared. It works to Hector on the right, and from distance his firm shot goes just wide of the far post.
Khedira gives the ball away in midfield to Nazarov, who bursts forward on the break. Khedira trips him, is booked, and will miss the next match. He'll miss the San Marino game.
Germany are being patient, and luckily for them the pitch looks in pretty good condition. They tee up Kroos for a shot from the edge of the box, but it's blasted at a defender's legs.
Ismaylov chases a ball dinked low, to the back post, but it's overhit and he can't get on the end of it.
Nazarov is tripped in his own half after his nifty footwork, but there's nothing vicious about it.
Azerbaijan have been much improved of late, perhaps because of Tony Adams' assistance. They're organised and clever so far, forcing Germany back.
Now it's Germany's turn to keep the ball in defence. A n attack down the right leads to nothing.
Azerbaijan are playing the ball around the defence, but it's early for now.

The match gets underway. And... Yes! Gary Birtles is the co-commentator.
While we're watching the game, I'm interested in your opinions. Not just on the football - though do send your thoughts - but on other subjects too. What do you, for instance, think of the CAPE Shiller ratio? Answers to @lxndrnthrtn.

Mario Gomez is back in the first team, having been banished by Pep Guardiola to Italy. He's back scoring goals now, though, and while he may not revolutionise football like Robert Lewandowski, he's still an excellent striker.
Germany have won four of their four group games so far, and have a five point advantage so far. That should grow today.
Sane doesn't get to start for Germany despite an impressive performance in the friendly against England and for Manchester City.
