Watkins had an immediate half chance when Foden hooked the corner back towards the goal but the Aston Villa player slipped on contact and Gulacsi comfortably saved.
Hungary bring on Nikolics and Bolla for Nego and Sallai. Olly Watkins replaces Abraham who is limping off.
Szoboszlai is booked for time wasting.
Abraham stabs the ball wide of the Hungary goal but was offside anyway.
Great chance for Holander to really test Pickford after Saka gave the ball away adjacent to the penalty area but the Magyar shot a yard or so over the bar.
Stones has another header at goal which Gulasci saves on the stretch and is now receiving treatment on his arm.
Abraham and Henderson come on for Sterling and Kane.
Saka's ball eventually comes to Kane but he misses the target by a long distance. Except for the ball for Sterling he has really been off his game.
A good ball from Szoboszlai almost finds Sallai in the middle. Hungary still posing a danger.
Great ball from Kane sets free Sterling but he just shoots straight at the sliding Gulasci rather than dink or go around him.
Holender comes on for Schon for Hungary.
Saka comes on to replace Grealish. We were led to believe it would be Foden. Saka's arrival will see him on the right flank while Sterling moves to the left hand side.
Foden curls in a corner and Stones heads just wide of the far post.
Walker gives the ball away on the edge of his own box and if Schafer had looked up he could have created a good chance.
Foden plays a lovely through ball for Sterling but he could not find Grealish at the back post.
Grealish controls beautifully a long ball from Mings but then goes down trying to win a foul under the close attention of Nego. You do wish he'd stop doing that. He is playing so well.
Foden swings in a corner which Gulacsi punches away.
England get the game back underway...
A poor display mostly from England but they found their groove late in the half, albeit mostly relying on creating chances from set pieces.
Shaw finds sterling at the far post and Gulacsi makes a good save from his header and then the Manchester city forward puts the rebound wide from a narrow angle.
On the occasion Foden's set piece goes straight into the arms of Gulacsi.
Another free kick for England around the penalty area, as Schafer gets a yellow card for fouling Sterling.
GOAL FOR ENGLAND! Foden's free kick was flicked on inadvertently at the near post and Stones arrives at the back to send England level with his left foot from close range.
Grealish draws a foul near the penalty area and Foden has another chance to test the Hungarian defence.
Mount puts the ball over the goalkeeper but Kane didn't really attack the ball.
Mount this time is brought down just a yard from the left by-line and penalty area.
A poor ball from Foden is easily cleared.
It is only really Grealish who looks at all lively for England and he gets taken out on the sidelines by Nagy giving England a chance to put the ball in the danger area.
Kane goes down in the box looking for a penalty but the referee rightly gives his appeals short shrift.
GOAL FOR HUNGARY! Sallai sends Pickford the wrong way. You can't say this was totally against the run of play either.
It is a penalty!
Shaw gets a yellow card for a high boot on Nego. Is it a penalty? It was right on the edge. We are checking now.
Walker a little fortunate not to give away a foul and a booking when he misjudged a long ball and he and Szoboszla fell to the floor.
Hungary looking the better side at present, enjoying a lot of possession in the England half.
Szoboszlai puts a cross in from the right wing and Sallai has a chance to shoot but can't hit the target.
Kane heads the corner wide and was penalised for a foul anyhow.
Lovely backheel for Grealish sets up Shaw deep down the left wing and his low cross is put behind for a corner by Kecskes under pressure from Kane.
Grealish pulls back to Kane but his touch is heavy and he cannpt get a good shot away.
A bit of an untidy start for England with Hungary looking well capable of causing trouble on the break.
Walker loses the ball up the field and Stones did well to block Szoboszlai's attempted centre.
Hungary get us underway...
A minute's applause for Jimmy Greaves and Roger Hunt before kick-off.
Anthems polished off, we're almost ready to go.
The players are making their way out onto the field now.
After their defeat against Albania in midweek made qualification virtually impossible one might wonder about the motivation of the Hungarian side, but at Wembley - especially given their history - you would expect them to go all out, especially in the first half.
Southgate has confirmed that Foden will be in a withdrawn role where we will hopefully see more of his 50-yard precision passes and dribbles setting up play from midfield.
Of course this generation of Magyars put up a good account of themselves in the European Championships just gone drawing with France and Germany, the latter match in Munich.
Whatever happens tonight of course it will never compare to this game which I believe football fans should pay homage to each time these two teams meet.
It is an interesting move playing Rice, Foden and Mount tonight and specifically which of the later two plays in central midfield and who behind Kane, or the number eight and ten roles in modern parlance.
Southgate yesterday said he 'commits a crime' every time he picks an England side. Bit strong, but you get what he means. I don't think they'll be too many complaints today.
This is the Hungary side looking to replicate the Wembley feats of Ferenc Puskas, Nandor Hidegkuti et al, some 68 years ago next month.
Gulacsi; Kecskes, Szalai, Lang; Nego, A.Nagy, Schafer, Z. Nagy; Schon, Szoboszlai; Sallai.
This is the side Gareth Southgate has chosen to represent the Three Lions tonight...
