Hello and welcome. It's Ecuador vs. France, in what is a crucial match for Group E. France are already through and will top the group unless they lose by four goals here. Ecuador, meanwhile, need to equal or better Switzerland's result against Honduras to progress.

Not quite. Ecuador can't quite do it, the referee blows full-time and they are out. That's a huge shame - they were tremendously unlucky not to win that after a superb performance after going down to ten men. They had the chances, but Antonio Valencia and Jefferson Montero were woeful, and Enner Valencia couldn't be as decisive as his recent run has seen him being. It's Switzerland who go through to take on Argentina in the next round. Thanks for watching and goodnight.

Almost late drama - the Ecuador right-back easily gets past the thoroughly unbothered-looking French defence and cuts it back, but Valencia can't quite bring it under his spell. He gets felled, France somehow fail to clear, and - now it's a corner for Ecuador! Now or never...

Ecuador must rue not starting with Ibarra and Arroyo. They've done more in the last ten minutes here than Valencia and Montero have all tournament.

Enner Valencia does his man with remarkable ease before haring away towards goal, but the French defence catch up with him and he goes down claiming a foul. The referee, somewhat surprisingly waves play on, and then Remy sees a left-footed curler saved at the other end. Frantic ending here, but only a win will do Ecuador.

And now France should bury it. Good work from Giroud, he cuts it back for Benzema on a plate, but in the same pattern of the whole evening he blasts it straight at Dominguez. He has been utterly useless tonight.

This is bonkers. It's France who look like the team with ten men. Ibarra gets away down the right, cuts inside into miles of space, but then hits it too close to Lloris. That could've been the goal that sent them through.

Noboa intercepts a pedestrian French attack then produces a great ball to set Arroyo free - but as with seemingly every Ecuador player on this team, his dribbling is good and the end product is not. He gets himself in space then lashes his shot wide at the near post.

Benzema has a shot. It's the same as all his other shots in this game, lacking direction and power and easily-saved by Dominguez.

Ecuador fight on. Arroyo drives into the area, but he has the attentions of two defenders to deal with and eventually they muscle him away from the ball.

Pogba get on the end of a header as France begin to threaten more, but the angle is tight and he can't squeeze it inside the far post, and there's nobody arriving to turn it in.

Lovely touch from Schneiderlin to dink the ball over a sliding defender, but his attempted volley on the follow-up goes miles over the bar. He started well, the Southampton midfielder, but he's faded as the game has gone on.

Giroud's first involvement is to bring the ball out of the air with an excellent touch, but then he holds onto it too long and misplaces his pass backwards. France don't look like winning this.

France make the chance they hope can get them a goal - it's Matuidi off, and Olivier Giroud on.

A rubbish corner is easily cleared and gives Ecuador the chance to counter, but Digne is there to tidy things up. He's been France's best player by a distance, the young left-back.

Benzema plays the one-two with Pogba and has a go from the edge of the box, but again it's a poor effort, although it does earn a corner via a deflection.

Change for Ecuador. Montero is being hauled off, and Renato Ibarra is replacing him.
63'
A pair of long-range efforts for France - firstly from Matuidi, who sees Dominguez pull off a fine save to tip it over, and then from Pogba who blasts over.

Raphael Varane replaces Sakho for France - an odd change, perhaps related to the latter's apparent knock earlier in the game.

A decent spell from France, which sees Pogba have a shy from the edge of the area only for it to be deflected over for a corner. Eventually, Benzema wellies it from range and puts it into orbit. This isn't a great performance from France, and they might as well call it a day now and get Pogba and Griezmann off. Theyv'e both been poor tonight and France have looked a shadow of themselves. If they're going ot be this dependent on them then they should be rested.

Another chance for Ecuador! They haven't looked any worse at all since going a man down. Montero gets down the left and he's got plenty of space, but only one teammate in support. But he twists and turns and eventually runs it out of play.
