This has been too easy for France. Honduras's game plan pretty much amounted to trying to kick their opponents out of the game, but France have proved too clever, and to good, to be duped by that sort of strategy. Could have been more than three.

Espinoza is the only Honduras player still pressing France when they have possession. He's fighting a losing battle.

Griezmann lines up a freekick on the right wing, with Giroud pointing to where he wants the ball played. But in the end Figueroa rises highest in the box and clears the danger for the time being.

Costly goes down under the challenge of Varane in the France penalty box, but the referee is having none of it and tells the striker to get back to his feet. Looked to be the correct decision on first viewing.

Debuchy whips a cross from the right wing into th box looking for Benzema, but Boniek Garcia gets back in time to get in front of the striker and block his volleyed effort on goal. The corner kick comes to nothing.

This has been a sobering experience for Honduras. Their 4-4-2 system looks old fashioned at this level, and some of their tackles have been shocking quite frankly. This time Garrido sticks his studs in Matuidi's leg.

This game has now slowed down to walking pace. France are seeing out the clock, and Honduras are quite pleased for them to do so. Both teams just waiting for the final whistle. Any more goals in store?

Many people expected Giroud to start for France this evening, but Deschamps' decision to opt for Benzema has been vindicated. But now the Arsenal striker will play alongside Benzema for the final 10 minutes of this game.

The Manchester United left back is back on the pitch, which is surprising. You wonder why Deschamps would risk him with the game already won.

While Benzema was celebrating his goal Evra has hit the turf and is receiving treatment on what looks to be an ankle injury. He twisted it when the ball first came into the box from the freekick that led to the goal. I'll be surpised if he continues this game.

GOAL! France 3 (72 mins - Karim Benzema) Honduras 0. There's no doubt about this one! Debuchy's drive from outside the box is blocked and falls at the feet at Benzema, who blasts high into the net from a tight angle.

Oooft! Valbuena is hacked down by Figueroa on the right wing. The referee doesn't show the defender a card. I can only assume that's because the referee has run out of cards?

France seem quite content with just knocking the ball about the midfield, running the clock down while imposing their dominance on Honduras. Although they will surely fancy adding a few more to the scoreline.

First chance of the second half for Honduras! Boniek Garcia is played through on goal, but his run takes him a bit too wide. He gets his shot away under pressure from Sakho but the effort is weak and Lloris saves with ease.

As you would expect, France are in complete control here against ten-men. Besides the Spain - Holland game this has probably been the most one-sided match of the World Cup so far. Never thought I'd type that sentence.
