What do you think of Deschamps and the way he has managed France at the 2018 World Cup?

Didier Deschamps did what Deschamps always does. Specifically: he adapted himself. He had a starting idea, with a young and fast team. He had to go back and mix generations and styles. Giroud, Matuidi came back. But Mbappe is still here. Today, France is a vertical team which goes fast and forward. When he is wrong, Deschamps knows how to rectify his mistakes.

Is there criticism of him in France – and if so is he answering it effectively?

Always. Because some of the French would like to see the Bleus play like Spain. The famous identity of the game. But the identity of France is not to have any. It's simply Deschamps' style. Since beating Argentina 4-3 in the last 16, critics are much less audible. But if the Bleus go missing against Uruguay, Deschamps will be back on trial.

Will we see any changes for the semi-final or is Giroud staying up front, with a midfield three?

No change for the quarter-final. Giroud up front. He does the job. A midfield three, yes… and no. It looks like a 4-3-3, some players say it’s a 4-4-2. But there will be no change against Uruguay.

What is the biggest weakness in the France team and what do people think about the Uruguay game?

The team does not really have a weakness but a characteristic that be a problem in the quarter-final: this is a team which needs space and then attacks it quickly. Against Uruguay, there will not be as much as against Argentina. It's hard to know if this team is patient.

What was the reaction to Mbappe’s performance against Argentina and how good can he be?

We knew he was good. At the World Cup, it’s the big stage. So we know now that he is more than a reality. Maybe the best player we had at his age.

Will France win the World Cup?

Good question… They can. Will they? I don’t know. But that would be amazing. They are the youngest team of the tournament.
