90'

That is that.

Heartbreaking for Iceland, who have really impressed in the World Cup. They will be back but it is Croatia who march on.

They have been really good thus far.

90+4'

Blimey nearly an own-goal from Lovren as he nearly heads over a deflected corner.

90+2'

Iceland keep pressing but their race is run sadly.

90'

GOAL! ICELAND 1-2 CROATIA (PERISIC)

Heartbreak. The end of Iceland's World Cup hopes but Croatia are set to win all three World Cup group games for the first time ever.

Perisic gets down the left and smashes the ball into the corner. Question marks over Halldórsson though.

88'

THERE'S BEEN A GOAL IN ST. PETERSBURG!

Argentina have scored. That means one goal for Iceland will do it...

85'

Perisic takes it but it goes over. Finnbogason is off and A. Gudmundsson is off.

85'

Croatia break and Perisic tries to take it alone rather than play it into Rakitic. Free-kick in a dangerous area...

84'

Kalinic comes out and does really well to punch a free-kick away.

Jedvaj had been booked for that.

83'

Less than ten minutes to go.

Can Iceland get one more?

81'

Another change for Croatia.

Kovacic is coming off and rakitic is on.

78'

Time for a Thunderclap from the fans to try and rally the players.

76'

GOAL! CROATIA 1-1 ICELAND (SIGURDSSON)

He missed his last one against Nigeria but he's calmly put that into the top corner. Excellent from the talisman.

75'

PENALTY!

Iceland have been awarded a penalty for handball from Lovren.

73'

IS THAT THE MOMENT?

Incredibly Iceland break and Finnbogason is onside.

He squares it and plays it to the back post but Bjarnason gets it all wrong and it goes wide.

71'

Attacking chang from Iceland. R. Sigurdsson is off and Sigurdarson is on. Incredibly that's the third Icelandic player on the pitch now who plays their club trade in this stadium with Rostov.

69'

Iceland break whilst Pjaca is down but they can't make it count.

Looks like Lovren could be coming on.

66'

Modric has gone off with Bradarić on now.. Kramaric's deflected shot goes wide but Croatia can't do anything from the corner.

66'

Sigurdsson twisting and turning on the right and he fires a shot over and wide from a very tight ankle.

You wonder if earlier in the match that would have been crossed.

64'

Here's the second yellow of the tournament for Iceland. Finnbogason goes for a loose ball but he's late and catches a lot of Kalinic.

62'

Modric fires it in but Iceland clear and they get a free-kick.

61'

Free-kick in a dangerous area for Croatia.

A goal here would be a real sucker-punch.

59'

Iceland have just received their first yellow card of the tournament as Hallfredsson goes in late.

56'

BAR!

Another chance for Iceland! Ingason gets free from a corner and his header comes off the bar.

55'

SAVE!

Another chance for Iceland from a long throw. The ball is flicked on and from a header Kalinic does well to head over.

54'

Elsewhere in the group Victor Moses levelled matters up from the penalty spot following an error from Javier Mascherano.

Nigeria going through as things stand

  • Milan Badelj
GoalMilan BadeljCroatiaGOAL! ICELAND 0-1 CROATIA (BADELJ) He's now put Croatia ahead! The group leaders capitalise on their best spell of the match as a cross bounced up in the box and Badelj runs on from midfield and hammers home.

GOAL! ICELAND 0-1 CROATIA (BADELJ)

He's now put Croatia ahead! The group leaders capitalise on their best spell of the match as a cross bounced up in the box and Badelj runs on from midfield and hammers home.

51'

BAR!

Before we hear about that Croatia have just rattled the bar. Fantastic effort from the edge of the area from Badelj.

50'

There's been a penalty in the other game...

48'

Another set-piece for Iceland and this time Croatia clear a corner well.

46'

Welcome back.

There are no changes from either side and we are under way for the second half.

Early free-kick for Iceland. It's easy for Kalinic to claim though.

45+2'

And that's half-time. A good half for Iceland in the sense that they had the bulk of the chances.

They've got to score now.

45+2'

SAVE!

More good work from Iceland as the ball is cut back to Gunnarsson on the edge of the box on the right hand side. It's going to the top corner but Kalinic palms it wide.

45+1'

CHANCE!

The corner is a good one and Kalinic can only parry it under pressure from Ingason.

Bjarnason strikes the loose ball but Kalinic combines well with a defender to save.

45'

Good move from Iceland sees Magnússon fire in a wicked ball first time and Croatia do well to clear.

44'

Another throw for iceland.

Can Gunnarsson create something?

He goes down the line and the ball gets worked to Hallfredsson who has a go from range but it's very over.

41'

Modric takes aim from the edge of the box as he gets a bit of space but he pulls it wide.

40'

CHANCE!

That was nearly it for Iceland. Finnbogason does well to win the ball back (Croatia think it's a foul) and he unleashes a first-time shot after a one-two with Sigurdsson. Narrowly wide.

39'

The ball is won back in midfield by Croatia and Modric sets his team away. However the move breaks down.

37'

The ball is fed into Perisic and he knocks it up as he turns.

He catches it poorly on his left and it goes behind for a goal kick.

34'

CHANCE!

Terrific from Iceland. Gudmundsson sends it deep to a free man at the back post. He knocks it down but the shot is blocked. Eventually Modric puts it out for a throw that is comfortably cleared.

33'

A good ball finds Sævarsson as he burst forward from right-back but Croatia are able to put it behind for a corner.

31'

Decent effort from Sigurdsson but Kalinic knew where he was going and got across well.

30'

Good spell of pressure from Iceland. Sigurdsson stands over a free-kick about 35 yards out.

He clips it into the box but it is cleared.

Now Hallfredsson wins a free-kick about 20-25 yards out on the left, favours Sigurdsson...

28'

Corner for Iceland is headed wide by Magnússon, the player who won the flick from the earlier throw.

26'

Of course an Iceland throw can be just as dangerous as a corner.

The front post flick is won but there's no-one at the back post.

26'

Corluka has made an excellent tackle to prevent a corner but he's taken a football in the face as a reward.

22'

For their part Croatia seem pretty happy just to keep the ball for the majority of this match. They know that a draw sees them go through top of the group.

Sigurdsson is nearly played through by Finnbogason but the pass is intercepted.

20'

From the corner Perisic is furious as he feels he was being held. No doing and Croatia have a corner which Iceland clear.

19'

First of all they've got a corner to defend as Perisic's cross is easily put out of play.

18'

I doubt Iceland's players will know the Argentina score yet.

However they will soon find out and that will surely increase their attacking efforts.

15'

There's been a goal in the other game and Lionel Messi has put Argentina ahead with a lovely goal.

As things stand a goal for Iceland would put them through.

14'

There's the first Thunder Clap of the night.

On the pitch Pjaca is given a yellow for that incident with Bjarnason.

12'

Bit of concern now as Bjarnason is done following a clash with Pjaca's elbow.

It was totally accidental but that didn't look good for the Iceland man.

11'

You can see what Iceland are doing and it nearly works.

They win the ball in their half and Sigurdsson gets the ball but he can't see Bjarnason in acres of space in the left and the mood breaks down.

9'

Pjaca bursts in from the wing but just as he gets towards the box he goes back under pressure from Gunnarsson.

Croatia want a free-kick but the referee says no foul.

8'

Croatia now have a chance to send in their own low cross, this time from Modric, but his ball in is too close to the keeper and he gathers well.

7'

Sigurdsson gets free down the right and tries to square it into the box but Croatia hold firm and clear well.

4'

Croatia already dominating the ball early as you would expect.

Iceland are going to have to rely on catching them on the counter or at set-pieces.

2'

Croatia rocking that lovely black kit that they wore during the 3-0 victory over Argentina.

1'

And we're under way!

Right there's five minutes to go!

Who have you got for this one?

This is an excellent breakdown of all the action going on.

STAT ATTACK

Croatia are bidding to finish top of their group for the first time at a World Cup.

STAT ATTACK

Iceland are aiming to become the first World Cup debutants to make the knockout stage of a World Cup since Slovakia in 2010.

WHAT THEY SAY

And here is his Croatian counter-part Zlatko Dalic.

"I don't care what other teams are saying. We mind our own business.

"It is not nice to say we have a reserve team. This is the Croatian national squad, all my players are going to play the same way they played against Nigeria and Argentina."

Zlatko Dalic, Croatia

WHAT THEY SAY

Let's hear first from Iceland head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson.

"We were ahead of them in our (qualifying) group and we've already beaten them once in Iceland, so we at least have that confidence with us when we play them."

Head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson of Iceland looks on against Peru during an International Friendly at Red Bull Arena on March 27, 2018 in Harrison, New Jersey.

HOWEVER the last meeting was in June last year where Iceland got their sole victory, a 1-0 win in Reykjavik and they did finish above Croatia in qualifying.

Hordur Magnusson of Iceland (C) celebrates his scoring 1:0 during the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualification football match between Iceland and Croatia in Reykjavik, Iceland on June 11, 2017.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

This will be the seventh meeting between these two teams but Croatia certainly have the upper hand, winning four of the six matches.

PERMUTATIONS

Right who needs want from this game?

Having beaten Nigeria Croatia are already through and are likely to finish as the group winners, hence the mass changes.

For Iceland things are a bit more complicated. They need to beat Croatia tonight AND hope that Argentina beat Nigeria.

HOWEVER that would put both teams on four points and as their game finished 1-1 it would come down to goal difference so Iceland have to go for it.

Got that?

Iceland's coach Heimir Hallgrimsson gives a press conference, on June 25, 2018 at Rostov arena, on the eve of the team's third match as part of the Russia 2018 World Cup football tournament.

CROATIA TEAM NEWS

Croatia make NINE changes for this game with their position at the top of this group confirmed.

Star midfielders Luka Modric and Ivan Perisic are the only two kept in the team.

ICELAND TEAM NEWS

That looks like three changes for Iceland as Ignason, Berg Gudmundsson and Hallfredsson coming in for Arnason, Gislason and Bodvarsson
