Klose doubt for playoff

Miroslav Klose may miss Germany's third-place playoff with Portugal on Saturday through injury. Klose - current tournament top scorer with five goals - has a calf injury which may prevent him pressing his claims for the golden boot.

"We'll have to see how it is on match day," admitted the Werder striker, who has scored two more than closest challengers team-mate Lukas Podolski and France's Thierry Henry. "I do want to play but if it makes no sense I'll sit the game out."
Defender Per Mertesacker will definitely miss the match as he is poised to undergo foot surgery, while full-back Arne Friedrich sits out the encounter in Stuttgart after picking up a knee injury.
