Beckham signed a five-year contract to join LA Galaxy in the summer of 2007, worth a reported $6.5million a year. His arrival generated a huge increase in the club’s revenue through unprecedented MLS television coverage and shirt sales. The former Manchester United midfielder helped them win the MLS Cup in 2011 and retain it the following season. He also won two MLS Supporters’ Shields with Galaxy and the MLS Western Conference on three occasions.

Former Wolves, Leeds and Tottenham striker Keane joined Beckham at LA Galaxy in 2011 and helped them finish as Western Conference champions at the end of his first season. The ex-Republic of Ireland international made an immediate impact and went on to win three MLS Cups and the MLS Suporters’ Shield during his five-year stay. He scored a total of 104 goals in 165 appearances for the club before departing when his contract expired in 2016.

Gerrard became the second former England captain to ply his trade with Galaxy, who paid a reported $9million for his services when his contract at Liverpool expired in July 2015. The midfielder scored two goals in 13 appearances in his first season as Galaxy were knocked out of the MLS Cup play-offs by Seattle Sounders. The following season he notched three goals in 21 appearances and in his final match the club were eliminated in the play-offs again, this time by Colorado Rapids.

The former Tottenham midfielder was included in the roster for both the 2016 and 2017 MLS All-Star Games and has scored 20 goals in over 50 appearances for them.
