The world number three was beaten by Petra Kvitova at the Qatar Open in February, but has had an incredible run in Monterrey, claiming her fourth straight-set win in a row by beating Bogdan 6-0 7-5 in the semi-final.
In a first meeting for the pair, the Wimbledon champion dominated the first set, hitting just four unforced errors and going on to make only eight across the 81-minute match.
The Spaniard will now face fourth seed Timea Babos after the Hungarian fought back from a set down to beat Sachia Vickery 1-6 6-2 6-2.
After a disastrous first set, Babos found her form in the second, going on to hit 23 winners and five aces after a total of one hour, 36 minutes on court.
Babos is now aiming to secure her second singles title of the year after triumphing at the Taiwan Open in February.
Meanwhile in Charleston, rain suspended play between Julia Goerges and Anastasija Sevastova at 4-4, with the day’s schedule being cancelled until 10.30am local time (3.30pm GMT) on Sunday.
Kiki Bertens will first take on Madison Keys before Goerges and Sevastova’s semi-final resumes to decide the final match-up of the Volvo Car Open.
