Vettel is pushing very hard on his final lap and he continues to lead the way with his 1:40.091.
Grosjean is the last to head out and he will have to make a near immediate impact.
Webber is only third as a result of his latest lap but Vettel flies through with a 1:40.091.
It's a time of 1:40.501 for Hamilton, which is swiftly beaten by Rosberg with a 1:40.419. Webber is pushing hard now on his current lap.
Webber is fastest in the first sector and Rosberg the middle as Hamilton thrives in the final sector. The circuit resembles a chaotic scene right now.
Only Massa, Perez and Grosjean are yet to head out as Q3 gets underway.
ALONSO MISSES OUT! Huge news as Fernando Alonso fails to make it through to Q3 for the first time in 2013! He finishes in 11th. Also out are Di Resta, Button, Vergne, Maldonado and Bottas. Massa scrapes through.
Webber will put on a new set of softs now as he lines up a final tilt - he's currently in fifth place on the timesheet.
Button finds himself down in 15th now and he must make an impact towards the end of Q2 otherwise he will drop out along with Maldonado and others.
Hamilton goes second, just 0.004s off Rosberg, and there are a lot of movers as we near the end point of Q2.
Rosberg goes fastest with a 1:40.473 and he is now in the position he was with this amount of time remaining in Q1.
Raikkonen is now fastest with a time of 1:40.473 and he's making a real impact already.
The floodlights are on and the sun is setting over the Yas Marina circuit - it really is a sight.
Button is racing round now on the softs, and it looks unlikely that anyone will venture on to the mediums in this session.
Di Resta is again the first one out on the track for Q2 and he's on the soft tyres which could be a sign of what's to come.
The drivers to drop out from Q1 are: Gutierrez, Sutil, van der Garde, Bianchi, Pic and Chilton.
Hamilton ends Q1 at the top of the timesheet with a time of 1:40.693 ahead of Massa and Raikkonen as the opening segment of qualifying draws to a close.

Grosjean heads out on softs, as does Raikkonen, but it's the Red Bulls that lead the way in this Q1.
It's frantic stuff at Yas Marina: Vettel goes fastest by half a second but then Webber beats it with a 1:41.568!
Hamilton goes quickest with a 1:42.231 and Webber and Vettel look to be in hot pursuit of top spot on their current laps.
Both Red Bulls are now out on the track and they are both on the soft tyres already.
Alonso's latest lap brings him within 0.3s of the pace-setting Rosberg and Button goes third quickest behind former team-mate Hamilton.
Hamilton goes second fastest as he eases in behind Rosberg and ahead of Perez. Rosberg remains on the mediums.
Rosberg goes quickest so far with a 1:42.567 and he leads the way early on.
Paul Di Resta is the first out in his Force India, immediately followed by Hulkenberg. The track temperature is already 11 degrees cooler than it was in FP3.

Lewis Hamilton, whose Mercedes team are fighting to defend second place in the constructors' standings from Ferrari and Lotus, was third fastest with German team mate Nico Rosberg fourth.
Despite track temperatures hovering around 44 degrees, and air temperature of 36, Vettel lapped 0.222 quicker than Australian team mate Mark Webber. The pair were also one-two in Friday's second practice.
Sebastian Vettel wrapped up practice with his name on top of the leaderboard in yet another Red Bull one-two. The newly-crowned quadruple world champion, sporting a new helmet with the Roman numerals IV on top, lapped the Yas Marina circuit with a best time of one minute 41.349 seconds set late in the afternoon heat.
