Here's how they qualify: 1-Vettel, 2-Hamilton, 3-Webber, 4-Massa, 5-Rosberg, 6-Alguersuari, 7-Senna, 8-Alonso, 9-Perez, 10-Petrov.
Wow, what a climax, with Hamilton taking pole for all of three seconds before Vettel snatched it back!
Chequered flag out, are there any late heroics? YES!! HAMILTON FASTER!! But then VETTEL FOLLOWS HIM ROUND AND TAKES POLE!!
Rosberg is flying as time ticks down...
Hamilton is just nine hundredths slower than Webber... than Vettel goes fashest! Two tenths faster than Webber.
They're out again, and once more Webber is flying... 1:49.376 for the Aussie, that's a cracker.
First round of laps, and it's Webber in front with a 1:50.875... from Vettel, Hamilton, Massa, Alguersuari...
Lewis Hamilton's McLaren has been patched up after that bizarre Maldonado incident and he is out on the track. The sun briefly peeks its head out...
Ooooh.... Massa nearly loses the back end, just about holds on but has to go over the gravel. A bit of a boo-boo there.
The final session is under way - 10 minutes to decide the order at the front of the grid... and Fernando Alonso is out of soft slicks!
OUT IN P2: 11-Buemi, 12-Kobayashi, 13-Button, 14-Barrichello, 15-Sutil, 16-Maldonado, 17-Kovalainen.
INCREDIBLE INCIDENT!! Maldonado swerves across in front of Hamilton and makes contact! That was deliberate! Amazing, and the Williams driver will surely be in big trouble there... And how much damage to Hamilton's car?
Alonso is in 13th and needs a time... he gets it! He goes fastest but JENSON BUTTON IS OUT!! He gets bumped into P13! Disaster!
Hamilton is in the traffic and dives up the inside of Maldonado!! He goes top of the pile, and that will surely be enough! No prisoners taken by Hamilton, but he looked to be within his rights...
Kovalainen has a line of traffic behind him, and that will not make him the most popular man on the track...
Webber fastest 2:04.542, from Button and Alonso... now Vettel to the top of the timesheet.
Petrov second, Senna sixth - he'll need another lap to stay in the top 10 I think.
Alguersuari goes second! Then Buemi fastest! It's all change here...
We're under way again, and with limited time remaining all 16 cars (no Sutil) come out. And the rain has just intensified a smidge!
How they stand: 1-Webber, 2-Vettel, 3-Button, 4-Hamilton, 5-Sutil, 6-Rosberg, 7-Massa, 8-Buemi, 9-Petrov, 10-Alguersuari, 11-Alonso, 12-Perez, 13-Senna, 14-Barrichello, 15-Kobayashi, 16-Maldonado, 17-Kovalainen. The top 10 go through to Q3.
The clock has been stopped as all the drivers return to the pits. I don't think it will be a long stoppage.
RED FLAG. The session has been stopped so those bits of Sutil's car can be cleared away.
Adrian Sutil has hit the barriers and limps off the track. Hehas damaged the nose and the left rear tyre... He lost it coming out of Eau Rouge. A scary moment for the German, but he is unhurt. Plenty of debris and turf on the track, though.
Button goes top of the timesheets again with a 2:07.232 - but that's five and a half seconds slower than he managed in Q1.
Everybody is out on the track, and Alguersuari is the first to clock a time - 2:10.471 for the Toro Rossi man.
And here comes the drizzle! It's not bad, but there is steady precipitation. Is is expected to ease over the course of the session, however...
Right then, off we go. It's Q2. This one is just 15 minutes, and seven more drivers will be eliminated.
Out in Q1: 18-Di Resta, 19-Trulli, 20-Glock, 21-D'Ambrosio, 22-Liuzzi, 23-Ricciardo, 24-Schumacher. A good run from Bruno Senna, who is seventh and quicker than Renault team-mate Vitaly Petrov.
Right at the death, Heikki Kovalainen is up into 16th! Lotus into Q2, and Paul Di Resta is out!
Paul Di Resta is perched precariously in 17th and he spins on a hot lap. He'll have time for one more...
Bottom seven: Kovalainen, Trulli, Glock, D'Ambrosio, Liuzzi, Ricciardo, Schumacher.
Even quicker from Button - 2:01.813, but it will almost certainly count for nothing.
Perez and Petrov are both up into midfield. Maldonado and Kobayashi into the bottom seven...
Hamilton faster again, 2:03.008. Difficult to rest on your laurels on a drying track... No sign of the rain yet.
In the relegation zone: 18-Petrov, 19-Perez, 20-D'Ambrosio, 21-Glock, 22-Liuzzi, 23-Ricciardo, 24-Schumacher.
Lewis Hamilton is quickest with a 2:04.240.
HRT are currently outside the 107% mark - but officials normally find a way to get them into the race.
Every single car (bar Schumi) is on the track with rain on the way. Ferrari reckon the dowpour is five minutes away...
Webber clocks a 2:06.872. That should be OK - it's faster than his best time this morning. But track conditions changing all the time of course.
Rain is expected in the next 10 minutes or so... consequently there are plenty of drivers out. Schumacher's crash means he will not set a timed lap and will start from the back of the grid.
Hamilton clocks a 2:09.506. The extremely long sector two (over a minute long) could be decisive today.
The wreckage of Schumacher's car is still being removed from the track... but the first timed laps are starting to be set. 2:11.806 for Buemi - not quick.
There is a yellow flag out as Schumi waves to the crowd. His car is a mess, though. Not the best way to celebrate 20 years in F1. Mercedes do not know the cause of the crash yet...
Crash! It's Michael Schumacher! He has lost a wheel in a pretty big shunt. The wheel has run free, but Schumi is fine.
Off we go! It's a 20-minute session, at the end of which we will lose the seven slowest drivers. The drivers in the queue to leave the pit lane are on intermediate tyres.
The air temperature is 16C, the track temperature 20C. There is a very slight breeze coming in from the south-west. This is a long track and there is no guarantee of consistent conditions over the course of a lap...
First things first, the weather. It has been wet all weekend so far, and the drizzle continues to fall here. It is not as soaking as it has been, but precipitation is very much in the air. It should be a fascinating hour.
