That is Rosberg's sixth pole of 2014 but how must Hamilton be feeling?

0'

Rosberg secures pole with a time of 1:22.715.

0'

Vettel takes provisional pole with 1:23.201 but Rosberg is still on track.

0'

Massa goes fourth with 1:24.223.

0'

Flag out!

1'

Button fourth courtesy of a 1:24.294.

2'

Vergne into fifth with a time of 1:24.720.

3'

Ferrari claim that the rain is coming again over the radio as Rosberg sets a 1:23.236 – and that is enough for provisional pole.

4'

Vettel sets a serious marker with a time of 1:23.415 – can that secure pole?

6'

1:25.263 puts Button in third spot.

7'

Bottas is top of the sheets with a 1:24.259.

8'

Rosberg sets a time of 1:26.488 but Ricciardo betters it with a 1:24.259.

9'

Everyone on the slicks as the rain has stopped!

10'

And we are back underway...

-

Session to restart in two minutes!

-

Everyone else back in the pits.

-

Button to his team over the radio: "Very scary down there. No grip at all."

10'

The rain is really coming down now.

11'

Rosberg locks up at turn one, before Magnussen goes into the tyre wall. The red flag is out.

12'

The light goes green and there is a queue at the pit lane exit as the rain starts.

0'

Joining Kvyat is Sutil, Perez (hydraulics leak), Gutierrez, Grosjean and Bianchi.

0'

Kvyat spins off the track and is out.

0'

Button goes seventh with a 1:24.502.

1'

Hulkenberg goes ninth fastest but Kvyat and Button look good on their flying laps.

2'

Massa looking secure in sixth spot, with a time of 1:24.543. Button and Kvyat under threat.

3'

Perez has also had to retire as he has a hydraulics leak.

5'

A dejected Hamilton to Sky Sports F1: "I honestly don't know what to do tomorrow, you cannot overtake on this track. I will be lucky to get top 10."

6'

Ricciardo is a tenth slower than his teammate Vettel to move into third - 1:23.676 his time.

7'

Vettel goes second with a 1:23.606.

8'

Rosberg recovers from a sluggish start to record a time of 1:23.310 - and that is enough to move top.

10'

Bottas puts in a fine 1:24.001 to go top with Alonso in second with 1:24.249.

11'

The Force India's are top of the timesheets. Perez had set the marker of 1:25.211 before Hulkenberg edged him out with a 1:25.049.

-

Lauda also claims that Hamilton would have "won the race no question".

-

Niki Lauda seems to think that Hamilton’s fire was caused by a fuel leak – we will wait for confirmation on that.

15'

Green light is on but only Perez is out at the moment.

0'

Maldonado, Hamilton, Raikkonen, Kobayashi, Chilton and Ericsson out then.

0'

Hulkenberg up to 12th, which puts Raikkonen down in 16th. Ferrari taking a risk here as Raikkonen remains in the pits - and Bianchi punishes that decision. Bianchi goes round in 1:26.728, which edges out the Finn's 1:26.792.

0'

Chilton appears to have a problem now as he gingerly drags his car arond the track.

1'

Jean-Eric Vergne of Toro Rosso goes top of the timesheets with a 1:24.941 - he was on the softs, though.

2'

Kamui Kobayashi, Jules Bianchi, Max Chilton and Marcus Ericsson in the drop zone here.

3'

Grosjean goes into eighth with a 1:26.136. Adrian Sutil currently in sixth.

4'

Romain Grosjean, who is currently in the drop zone, is on a timed lap on the soft tyres, so that should change.

6'

Daniel Ricciardo up to second with a time of 1:25.495.

7'

Bianchi, Chilton, Grosjean and Ericsson the men who are going out at this stage.

9'

Valtteri Bottas went quickest with a 1:25.690 but that was soon bettered first by Sebastian Vettel's 1:25.662 and then Nico Rosberg's 1:25.353.

10'

Dramatic stuff there. Hamilton’s engineers told him to pull over but all Hamilton would respond is that “it will not stop”. Hammer blow as this is statistically his favourite track.

12'

HAMILTON OUT OF QUALIFYING! His car is engulfed in flames and he is out – having made a clean sweep of practice Hamilton is out.

13'

Button goes around fastest with a time of 1:26.913 but there is a big development for Hamilton.

15'

Maldonado is out of the qualifying having had to pull over having locked up…

16'

Kobayashi, Bianchi and Ericsson out early.

13:00

It is a touch overcast at the Hungaroring with a slight risk of rain as the light goes green.
