WHERE THE RACE WAS WON

Lewis Hamilton began beautifully from pole position, and drove a sensible race, supported by Mercedes team-mate and fellow front-row starter Valtteri Bottas.
The Brit dropped the lead after his pit stop, with Sebastian Vettel moving to the front - but when the German made his single pit stop in Lap 40 it was a slow one as the Ferrari team struggled to get the left front wheel on. Both Mercedes moved back in front of him and stayed there, with Bottas doing some excellent work to keep Vettel behind him.
But then on Lap 65 the German made his move, resulting in contact with the Mercedes, and both Ferraris moved through, Kimi Raikkonen following his team-mate, and leaving Bottas assessing the damage to his front wing.
It was a great finish for Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo, looking easily set to take the fifth place his team had targeted, but as he made a dart for P4, Bottas stayed deep in the corner and struck the Australian's car - with a steward's inquiry set for after the race. Mercedes were quick to tell the Finn to give Ricciardo the position back, perhaps in an effort to limit any later penalties.

HAMILTON-WATCH

Five stars out of five. Never in trouble, never stressed, and a calm, sensible afternoon's work with the largest winning time margin of the season so far.

PIT RADIO EXCHANGE OF THE DAY

"Have I got my DRINK?" Kimi Raikkonen realised on Lap 10 that the switch for his drinks bottle was not connected - and wanted to know whether he was pouring his water into the cockpit, or if the entire thing was empty.
Either way, it was not good for the Finn in extremely hot conditions.

MOVE OF THE RACE

Lovely move from Vettel at the start, moving round Raikkonen on the outside at Turn 2 despite not getting away brilliantly.

BEST OVERTAKE

The ever-impressive king of the overtakes, Daniel Ricciardo, dipped round Kevin Magnussen on the inside during Lap 21, was fended off, and then prompty made a dash up the outside instead to move into P6.

TACTICAL MASTERSTROKE

Great pit stopping from Mercedes, calling Bottas in on Lap 16 for a very swift change to cover the early move from Ferrari, who suffered a slow stop with Raikkonen due to having to clear out a small piece of rubber from his brake inlet.

UNSUNG HERO

Pierre Gasly of Toro Rosso took P6 - that much-derided Honda engine isn't looking too bad for him, is it?

FACEPALM OF THE WEEKEND

Max Verstappen radioed in on Lap 6, informing his team he had "no power, no power!" Another problem for the Red Bull team to deal with - and team principal Christian Horner was quick to say it was an engine issue rather than anything to do with the electrics.
His driver was unsurprisingly very angry, turning the radio waves somewhat blue as he expressed his rage.

STAR-SPOTTING

Actor Gabriel Luna - and his father-in-law - popped in to the Haas garage.
