Ahead of the race in Barcelona over the weekend, Harry Shaw sent the British driver a good luck message from hospital…
And after his win Harry posted a message of congratulations...
Hamilton then wrote back and described Shaw – who had since been moved back home – as his ‘spirit angel’.
The F1 team then transported one of its cars to Harry’s house in Redhill, Surrey.
He is also expected to be presented with Hamilton’s winning trophy.
Charlotte Shaw, Harry's mother, told the BBC: "It's brought smiles into his life at a time when there's a limited amount of fun to be had, to be perfectly honest."
She said Harry's smiles became more frequent after initial gifts such as Mercedes caps and signed photos of Hamilton.
"It just went from there, really," she added. "It's just got bigger and bigger and better and better and the smiles have got broader and broader.
"It's so special to see Harry enjoying himself."
The Shaw family is raising money for research into Ewing's sarcoma, the disease which Harry is suffering from, and have so far raised more than £15,000.
