McLaren driver Stoffel Vandoorne has been handed a 10-place grid penalty for Formula 1's Spanish Grand Prix as Honda was forced to change two engine components.
After detecting a sensor issue on Sunday morning, the Japanese manufacturer changed the energy store and control electronics on Vandoorne's car ahead of the race.
That comes just a day after Honda changed those same two components ahead of qualifying at Barcelona.
The latest change takes the McLaren driver to his fifth of each of the two elements, exceeding his permitted allocation of four, which triggers a 10-place penalty.
Vandoorne, who had qualified 19th, drops to the back of the grid on what has been a mixed weekend for Honda so far.
After Fernando Alonso's engine failed on his first lap of the weekend in Friday practice, the Spaniard bounced back to take seventh on the grid for his home race the following day.
