Norway’s Oystein Braaten took gold with a score of 95.00 in his first run, and though Woods posted 91.00 with his second attempt, USA’s Nick Goepper (93.60) and Canada’s Alex Beaulieu-Marchand (92.40) went on to push the Brit out of a medal position.
A seemingly serene first run came undone when Woods failed to land the final jump, which consequently saw the 26-year-old suffer a cut to the chin.

Meanwhile, it was Braaten’s 95.00 which led the way, with the Winter X Games silver medallist the only skier to post a score of over 90 in the opening round.
In the next run, Woods moved up to second with a score of 91.00, but Beaulieu-Marchand soon displaced him into silver when posting 92.40.
Sitting in bronze going into the final run, Woods scored 90.00 to narrowly miss out on strengthening his position, and he could only watch on as Goepper moved into second with a 93.60.
Earlier, Woods’ GB team-mate Tyler Harding failed to make the final cut after scoring 20.00 and 21.00 in his two qualifying runs.
The 21-year-old took a tumble in both runs, in what was his first showing in the Winter Olympics.
