Switzerland's Ryan Regez is toasting his arrival at the top of the ski cross world after claiming his first-ever Freestyle Ski World Cup victory.

Regez, 26, was a cut above the rest in Feldberg, blowing his previous career-best finish of ninth out of the water as he topped the podium ahead of Germany's Florian Wilmsmann and Canada's Kevin Drury.

"It's absolutely amazing - I can't describe it," said Regez.

"After all these years trying to get to the top and finally making it happen, and just making every heat work - boom!

"I tried to keep it as clean as possible and as fast as possible, and it worked absolutely fantastic."

Ski cross discipline leader Bastien Midol, of France, was fifth while Regez shoots up to 12th in the standings.
