The newly-appointed director of sports medicine for USA Gymnastics has left his post - after only a day in the job.

Edward Nyman's appointment was announced on Monday - but on Tuesday, the federation said that his "employment will not continue due to a conflict of interest.”
No further details were provided.
Nyman is not a medical doctor but an expert in sports science research who had been tasked with developing a plan for all of USA Gymnastics’ disciplines as well as supervising the medical staff, and liaising between the federation, the US Olympic Committee and the US Anti-Doping Agency.
This is the latest personnel problem to hit the federation in the last year after interim CEO Mary Bono left after four days and elite development coordinator Mary Lee Tracy was asked to resign after three days.
USA Gymnastics' former team physician Larry Nassar was jailed in 2018 for abusing girls and women under his care.
