Interim GB head coach Ricardo Vasconcelos has announced his long squad for a training camp later this month.

From January 28-29, a 28-man squad will descend on Nottingham, with a number of under-21 players involved as Great Britain look to field a young team for next June's IHF Emerging Nations Championship in Bulgaria.

The squad will be cut down to 14 players ahead of the Championship, which will be restricted to under-24 players with the exception of three-over age competitors.

"We feel this is a strong list where we are able to, as requested, focus on the future without disregarding the present and it's valuable impact and influence," said Vasconcelos, who was appointed head coach until summer 2017.

"This larger than usual pool of athletes is, in our view, testament to the work from the clubs and coaches that we part of those athletes' development.

"Looking at the list, we will have a really hard time choosing the last 14 and that is a great position to be in as coaches. We are keen to get the boys together and start working."
