Blues to open NHL season against Capitals

The last two Stanley Cup champions will face each other when the NHL season begins on Oct.

The current champion St. Louis Blues will host the 2018 champion Washington
Capitals as one of four games on the opening night of the season.
The other games include the Toronto Maple Leafs hosting the Ottawa Senators,
the Vancouver Canucks visiting the Edmonton Oilers and the Vegas Golden
Knights hosting the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks beat the Golden Knights in the
first round of the recently concluded playoffs.
The Blues defeated the Boston Bruins in a six-game series to win the first
Stanley Cup in franchise history.
Boston opens the season on the road and its first home game is slated for Oct.
12 versus the New Jersey Devils.
The NHL also announced each team's home opener.
The full NHL schedule will be released on Tuesday.
