NHL roundup: Aho caps Canes' comeback in OT

Aho was patient on the game-winning sequence as he waited out Ward, who played
the previous 13 seasons for Carolina, to deliver the winning shot and help the
Hurricanes complete a rally from a two-goal deficit.

Teuvo Teravainen and Micheal Ferland scored rapid-fire goals in the second
period as the Hurricanes, who won for only the second time in an eight-game
stretch (2-4-2), wiped out a two-goal hole in a matter of 66 seconds.
Carolina's Scott Darling, who is a former Chicago goalie, made 33 saves.

The outcome prevented the first NHL victory for new Blackhawks coach Jeremy
Colliton, who took over last week after Joel Quenneville was fired. Jonathan
Toews and Alex DeBrincat scored for Chicago, and Ward made 37 saves.

Ducks 2, Predators 1 (SO)

Rickard Rakell scored the game-winner in the fourth round of the shootout to
give Anaheim the victory over visiting Nashville.

Rakell, who also had an assist in regulation, weaved his way in and beat Pekka
Rinne (29 saves) on his glove side. Anaheim goalie John Gibson (34 saves) then
made a pad save on Kevin Fiala's try to clinch the Ducks' third win in the
last five games.

Ryan Getzlaf scored Anaheim's lone regulation goal. Fiala scored for
Nashville, which had a five-game winning streak snapped and lost for the first
time in nine road games this season.

Rangers 2, Canucks 1

Brett Howden scored the tiebreaking goal a little bit beyond the midway point
of the third period as host New York edged Vancouver.

Filip Chytil also scored for the Rangers, who have won two straight and six of
seven (6-0-1). Goalie Henrik Lundqvist made 25 saves and earned his 437th
career win to tie Jacques Plante for seventh place on the NHL's all-time list.

Nikolay Goldobin scored for the Canucks, who had their six-game point streak
snapped. Vancouver has dropped three of four (1-1-2) to begin a six-game road
trip. Goalie Jacob Markstrom recorded 25 saves.

Blue Jackets 2, Stars 1

Pierre-Luc Dubois scored the deciding goal midway through the third period
despite getting hit in the face with a stick while in the crease as visiting
Columbus defeated Dallas.

Cam Atkinson scored the Blue Jackets' first goal, and netminder Sergei
Bobrovsky turned away 26 of the 27 shots he faced to earn the win, which
granted Columbus the sweep of the season series between the two teams.

Alexander Radulov, who returned to action after missing 10 of Dallas' previous
11 games with a lower-body injury, scored for the Stars, and Anton Khudobin
stopped 26 shots.
