Louis escaped with a 2-1 victory over the host
Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night.
Carter Hutton made 30 saves for the Blues, the biggest coming just before the
winning goal when he denied William Nylander on a breakaway.
Soon after, Dunn zipped away from his own zone with the puck to create a
two-on-one rush. He elected to shoot instead of passing and cleanly beat
Toronto goalie Frederik Andersen on the blocker side at 1:43 for his fourth
goal of the season.
The win snaps a three-game losing streak for St. Louis, which tied the game on
an Alexander Steen goal with 57 seconds left in regulation. Toronto's Connor
Brown scored a short-handed goal midway through the third period.
Predators 1, Golden Knights 0
Juuse Saros made 43 saves for his third shutout in only 12 starts this season
as Nashville blanked Vegas at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
With its entire first line out of action by game's end, Nashville avenged two
earlier losses to its expansion opponent and moved within a point of idle
Winnipeg for first place in the Central Division with 58 points.
Kevin Fiala provided the only goal at 8:00 of the third period with his first
tally since Dec. 21 against Carolina.
Sharks 3, Coyotes 2 (SO)
Goalie Aaron Dell was perfect in his first NHL shootout and Joe Pavelski
scored the lone showdown goal to earn San Jose a 3-2 victory over Arizona in
Glendale, Ariz.
The Sharks blew a two-goal lead, but Dell's performance against Arizona
shooters Clayton Keller, Brendan Perlini and Derek Stepan made Pavelski's
marker the winner at the Gila River Arena. Dell also made 30 saves through
regulation and overtime.
San Jose is riding a three-game winning streak, and two of those victories
came in extra time against the last-place Coyotes. Unlike the Saturday game in
which Arizona blew a lead, the Sharks were the ones who jumped on top Tuesday.
Devils 4, Islanders 1
Damon Severson scored twice in a span of 1:26 in the second period as New
Jersey ended a six-game losing streak with a 4-1 win at New York.
Kyle Palmieri and Taylor Hall also scored for the Devils, who netted the final
four goals to earn their first win since Dec. 27. New Jersey went 0-3-3 during
its skid.
New Jersey goalie Keith Kinkaid, who drew the start when Cory Schneider was
scratched due to illness, recorded 25 saves.
Stars 4, Red Wings 2
Jason Spezza scored two power-play goals and Dallas won for the eighth time in
11 games by downing host Detroit.
Radek Faksa and Martin Hanzal also scored for the Stars, while John Klingberg
and Alexander Radulov contributed two assists apiece. Ben Bishop stopped 13
shots in the victory.
Andreas Athanasiou had a goal for Detroit and assisted on Trevor Daley's goal.
Rangers 5, Flyers 1
Rick Nash scored two goals and New York had little trouble dispatching
visiting Philadelphia.
J.T. Miller, Paul Carey and Michael Grabner also scored for the Rangers, who
had struggled mightily in their previous two home games, a 5-2 loss to Chicago
on Jan. 3 and a 7-2 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday.
The Rangers are 4-5-2 over their last 11 games.
